grep SailorMoon * in UNIX language basically means that you're searching for the string (grep) "SailorMoon" (SailorMoon) in any file (*). Or something. :D :D :D

no, seriously, it's grep sailormoon * Always has been, always will be. It means "look for 'sailormoon' in all these files."

"grep * sailormoon" would just print out every line in a file named sailormoon.

You know, I think the explanation for why the site was named that, and what it meant, was somewhere in the FAQs. The scary thing is, I did actually read those when I first signed up... out of paranoia of it being my first web community. Then when I made Jupiter staff, I went back and re-read them until I practically memorized them, because I had to attempt to enforce them.

Apparently my lesson for today is that I'm a loser that really needs to "get a life" and deserves to be blocked (I'm about to make a post in my LJ about this).
