Japanese goods
Jan. 9th, 2009 21:44I still have about a day and a half in Japan, but I'm packing up my things and getting ready for the night bus which will lead to my eventual afternoon flight back to the States. As I'm pretty much finished collecting things, I've taken a picture of all of the fun and exciting goods I got. Actually not that fun and exciting, but artfully arranged on a small table, so maybe that makes up for it.

Anime/Manga
- Mistress Fortune
- Gedo Senki DVD (the one Ghibli movie by the lesser Miyazaki that never really made it to the States)
- Pocket Monsters first movie DVD
- You're Under Arrest File X (art/guide book)
Tenimyu/KenKen
- Shitenmyu pamphlet
- KenKen Shitenmyu photoset
- two fliers for KenKen's stageplay
Books (used book shopping = heaven)
- Madrigal's Magic Key to French
- score to Tchaikovsky's Serenade for String Orchestra
- Japanese Society, which I'll be using in one of my classes next semester -- score!
- The Japanese Fairy Book (by which they mean "fairytale", I think)
- Password de Koi wo Shite, which promises to be just the story my junior high heart longs for
Arashi
- Summer Tour 2007 Final TIME DVD
- Iza, Now!! DVD
- Catalog from au, a cell phone company, simply because Arashi is on the cover
Whale shark
- Whale shark
Miscellaneous Japanese Things
- Omikuji (fortune) from a temple in Yamagata
- Omamori (charms) from Sensouji (the big temple in Asakusa): studying/tests and traffic safety (the big You're Under Arrest fangirl in me insisted)
- Furikake (rice topping) and German-imported candy (not really Japanese, but you can't get it in the US)
- Purikura from Ikebukuro
- Geta and tabi
- Juggling bean bags
- Purse, towel, coin purse
All in all, V-I-C-T-O-R-Y.
ETA: Actually, decided to give Harrison the Pocket Monsters DVD. Instead, I'm keeping an adorable Pikachu movie short cine-manga (but in Japanese, so it's cool).

Date: 2009-01-10 03:34 (UTC)You sure bought a lot less than whenever I go to Japan. X.D I usually spend loads at Animate and always bring an extra bag to carry the things I buy, haha.

Date: 2009-01-10 10:29 (UTC)Meanwhile, I tracked down the nine-so-far Toradora! novels as well as the spin-off novel, which I figured couldn't hurt to get. Total comes to $60... hope that's okay. ^^;;
See you next week!
