ltgmarsI've been up all night, and I can't seem to find it in me to take my Chinese take-home test.
We have one every Monday, so you think I'd be used to the routine by now, but every week it gets harder and harder to take it at a decent time. Usually I'll cram by memorizing the characters, sleep for a few hours, and then take it in the morning before I go to class. But right now it's about 4:30am and I haven't looked at one character. Instead, I've been watching videos (most of which I've already seen) online. Damn you, lack of self-restraint.
It probably has to do with how I feel like I haven't been keeping up with the language. Of course, going into an intro language course, you know that it's cumulative/highly-progressive and that the second semester is going to be harder than the first, but it's still a little disheartening to turn in a homework sheet that you thought you understood and get it back marked up its proverbial wazoo with corrections.
Meanwhile, everyone should watch the AAA 2008 version of "Niji". Because it pwns the Time version considerably. More on this in the next (or next-next, depending on character limits, because I know they exist) installment of the AAA 2008 Spazz Fest.
All right, I'm going to look at some characters and take the test now. Seriously. And then I'll go home ('cause I've been sitting in the LLC (which technically closes at 11pm) by myself for hours), possibly take a shower or at least change my clothes, and then go to class. Bad situation, folks.
ETA: Okay, here's what I'm going to do! I'm going to study some characters, go home, make ramen, take my test while eating said ramen, shower/change, then go to class.
ETA2: Actually, since I have a flashlight in my backpack, I'll glance over vocab while walking back to the apartment, study while making ramen, eat ramen/take test, shower/change, then go to class. Yes, perfect.
