I beat Beth. I think. >_> It's probably because I don't wear makeup and can install a hard drive. ~_~
Anyway, thank you, everyone, for your support while I was being pissy at my mom (yay). Long story short (well, truncated at least... "My Life: Abridged"), we got into an argument because I wanted to go somewhere, and she blew me off without giving me a valid reason. I asked for a valid reason and she wouldn't give me one, yelling at me in that "you insolent child, listen to your mother for once" sort of way. It escalated into some weird screaming contest, I ended up storming up to my room and slamming the door (which is really annoyingly achieved... my door is light-weight wood, so when I want to slam the door (not because I'm that upset - I've never actually gotten upset enough to slam the door on purpose; I mainly wanted to do it to convey my anger), I have to walk into my room, turn around, and deliberately push the door into the frame). There was a point in time I went back out to defend my point of view, but I retreated to my room once more, after which I heard her still yelling (and saying such fuzzy things to me).
I'm still sort of mad at her for it, and I've unfortunately been a bit colder and more irritable around her, but after a good few days of completely avoiding her altogether (I've learned not to confront her about things like these without apologizing (she only gets angry again, even if I do apologize), and I don't feel she's entitled to an apology since 1) I, contrary to popular belief, wasn't trying to be a wise-ass when I asked her to give me a valid reason and an explanation of her statements, and 2) she never apologized to me for such scathing remarks), we're on a speaking basis. Even though she never really gave me a true apology, which would have been nice, she did buy me, without my request, tapioca pudding and a batch of CD-Rs.
And as we all know, tapioca pudding makes the world go 'round.
I suppose there're still some unhappy feelings (probably more in my mind than in hers), and we have gotten into arguments (though smaller ones) since the incident, but nonetheless, I can officially say that all's well in gorgeousland.
Oh, and since I didn't tangent off into a reference to Adam in my last post, I guess I have to mention him twice this time, ne?
Announcement: In my infinite dorkdom, I made myself an IRC channel. ^^;; I registered it and everything... go check it out (well, if you have an IRC client)! Yes, and you can talk to all two of us in there... #ltgmars@irc.rizon.net
Now, off to start Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (haven't read it yet... heh) and round up the summer reading selection for English class next year, all before going off to a nice little anime/DDR romp. :D
