It's amazing how much free time I have when I'm not busy fending off the lost souls of my long-neglected academic endeavors.
This time I was a little trigger happy, so the second half of the concert will have to be split into three parts. This was also the part I watched with Halley and Evan, though I had to get them drunk beforehand and they still didn't enjoy it. But in the end, they still had favorites (yay)! Evan's was Nino; Halley's was Sho. They were also grossed out by Jun, even without my prompting, and I felt very gratified.
Also? So many screenshots. I can feel the interesting comments seeping from my grasp as I type.
Part 1 - Arashi's Fight in Kokuritsu
Part 2 - Concert: "OVERTURE" to "Still"
Part 2.5 - Concert: "Still" Moment, Take Two
Part 3 - Concert: "Lucky Man" to "Kaze no Mukou e"
Part 4 - Concert: "Re(mark)able" to "Ichioku no Hoshi"
"Re(mark)able"

I love it when the talky segments start with Nino. ♥

Even pixelated, he's cute.

[cue taking screenshots for the heck of it]

Mm, you make lethargy look good. ♥

[more screenshots]

The Juniors light their torches and pay their cultish respects to Arashi.

So, so, so unnecessary, Jun. I seriously, seriously don't get how this is attractive.

(The pyro in me screams for joy before setting things on fire.)

I love how the fire crawls across the stadium and up the stands.

The big reveal. How freaking AWESOME is this?! I'm such a sucker for special effects.

So cool! And they descend a little bit.

Tell me this isn't cool. I dare you.

Sho + fire.

Aiba + fire.

Ohno's smokin' enough on his own. :3 Also, I love how he delivers his first line. His voice is so low and breathy. Haaaaaaaaaaah.

I've decided that I'm going to try to keep my Jun hate to a minimum, at least until his solo.

They're having so much fun being dramatic. It's cute. A little sad when you realize that this is how they express "cool", but hey, I'm a fan.

I'm aching to see a clearer picture of his hair right now.

Look how everyone is standing normally except...

Basically, anything you do is cooler when you're surrounded by fire. I'm thinking specifically of naked apron cooking in a kitchen ablaze.

Finally we get a Nino solo! I love when he raps, because he's so high and squeaky (and his voice matches that), but he gets into it anyway.

I do like the delivery of "to-to-to-tomaranai".

I will refrain from verbally releasing a bitter fart on Ohno's outfit until I have outfit talk. Just focus on the hair...

You know what other Arashi song has "jiwari" in it? Beautiful days. So basically they're the same song.

I don't care what you sayCami, Sakurap is good.

Here we find Nino, stroking an imaginary elephant.

Jun gets the most green on him throughout the song.

Ohno lets out a nice beam, but his face is contorted in concentration.

Sho points a lot. He likes to use his fingers individually.

Shit, man, I really like fire.

See how everything but his hand is blurry? It's because he moves like a beast, and everyone enjoys it.

Especially Nino, who goes on a quest for the lube. It has yet to be found. Maybe your mom still has it.

See, Jun can look good when he's standing plainly.

NINOHWAH♥ You can see how Ohno's trying to look his way in the first screenshot, but Aiba proves to be a hurdle in the culmination of their true love. You may as well rename him "potion that induces deathlike sleep".

Wee! (See, these are the screenshots that got the screenshot number so high this time.)

Silly totem dancing -- a requirement at every Arashi concert. Also, Ohno has some really intense pit hair. (In other news, during my failed first attempt at Project Dream, I spotted Nino pit hair. It's short and wispy, like the tufts upon the head of a newborn babe.)

The goofy camera angle didn't do much for me.

SCRUNCHY FACE.

He has no one to blame but himself. Even if I'm biased enough to leave in all of the crappy/weird screenshots of Jun and take out the less-than-spectacular ones of everyone else (which I am, and I do), Jun just has so many more opportunities for mean remarks from me because this is all he does.

Sho looks good here. ♥

They go down. (The sexual reference is obvious, but it's almost too easy.)

And their stupid outfits are blowing in the wind. Awesome. I also really like it when Nino moves to the beat (as he is wont to do). This time, he's tipping his head to the major drumbeat. Yayay.

Sho is getting ready for takeoff.

But in the end he chickens out because oh yeah, he's afraid of heights. He works so hard! ♥

This is not the first time Jun is faster than the rest of them. (True statement; also, a sexual diss, though I guess if you really hate sex, having a fast partner would be preferable.)

I know I said I'd try to be nice to Jun, but I decided that when I was writing this entry just now, days after I took this screenshot and kept it so that I could comment specifically on Ohno's disapproving face as he looks at Jun.

It almost looks like that's a fan in the way. P.S. I love puns.

Sho does this a lot, and it makes me uncomfortable.

Oh yeah, you sing it, Ohmiya. (Ohno's messing with his mic again. So precious.)

Ohno is definitely hair-primping here. (Sorry, Aiba, you don't really matter.)

They've all landed in the middle circle, where so many magical things happen.

Final moves. The hand-drag is funny.

Dum, dum, dum, dum, BAdum!
"truth"

Budum-bum-bum-bum, budum-bum-bum-bum,

yum-padum-pum, pum-pum-

pum-pum!

Budum-bum-bum-bum, budum-bum-bum-bum,

yum-padum-pum, pum-pum-PUM!

(That was stupid, I apologize.) Ohno starts singing. Nino pretends to be cowering, but really he's just trying hard to keeping his hands as far away from his crotch as possible.

I'm pretty sure I've developed an Ohno-touching-his-mic fetish.

Yes, you.

I'm sorry, I know you only make love to Nino and fish, but I'm just trying to be honest here.

Gentle Riida tries to soothe Sho, who can't get the images of an Ohmiyafish threesome out of his head.

I think it's kind of weird how as they grew up, they started looking less lanky, even though they're basically the same shape as they always were. Ohno was nearly 19 when Arashi debuted, and I can't imagine that his body has changed that much since he was well into puberty (besides the fluctuations in weight, etc.), but for some reason he looks completely different. It probably had something to do with his silly haircut back in the day. Anyway, my point here is that with that longish vestish thing on, he kind of looks like his lanky old self.

First Nino motion-emotion montage of the song!

Obligatory.

Awe!

Shock! *signs the reservation for her seat in hell*

Jun looks like he's running, heh.

He sings dramatic songs so dramatically, and happy songs so happily. (Guess which this is.)

See? Jun has the green again.

Jun and Sho share a painful moment.

"Whatever, bitchez, I'm cute and almost smiling, so suck it."

Arashi decided at this point to play charades. Sho's phrase was "eating ramen from a really huge bowl".

Aiba got "Phantom of the Opera".

Sho was outraged when people guessed Aiba's before they guessed his.

I really like this dance. (I also like the clip where they talk about how Sho and Aiba kept forgetting the dance, and Aiba tries to step through it and goes, "This part's perfect," and Jun's like, "Wrong.")

+2 for an awesome shot. I'm being serious here. This is a great shot. (Too bad he's about 500 in the hole at this point.)

"So this is what death looks like."

Fuzzy, but s'all good.

I think the point at which he started being weird was the How's it going? concert. Near the end, he winked, and he was never the same again.

FIRE.

Jun kicks. No one cares. Nino pointedly walks away.

Dramatic singing. So good. I have a favorite, though. *wibbles at scrunchy-face Nino*

The curvy quiet version of the chorus + the reinstitution of the music, punctuated perfectly by mock ballet hand movements... :D

Nino does the "mienakute" eye cover thing pretty regularly, I think. He's attentive to the music and to "performing" the music in a way that's just so nice. *so biased*

Oh-face.

Finger wag. :/

Aiba's laughing and smiling so much of the time that his quiet shots are really nice.

Dududink-dink, duh dududum...

And it...

ends with...

FIRE. *_* (The asterisks represent the fire that's glowing in my eyes.)
"Step and Go"

And so commences my favorite choreographed song performance in this concert.

Fun colors!

Followed by prancing!

And more Arashi-in-a-front-to-back-line! I wonder what kind of bowling ball would be necessary to tip them over.

Yeah, sing it, Neener.

Sho looks like he's trying to subtly keep from going to the bathroom. (Yeah, I don't know.)

Jun's dancing concentration face.

Nino's dancing fun face. :D

Okay, I've decided that I've kept too many pointless screenshots, and now I'm paying for it. The flowy capes are kind of fun, though.

:o :D

Ohno just sparkles at concerts. I'm maybe the millionth person to say it, but that "gap" between his sleepy-slouchy normal self and his singing-dancing performance self is pretty incredible.

I was originally drawn to Nino because he's was the most normal-looking of them all, and that fits my aesthetic the most. I can see here that while Jun doesn't always make me want to throw up (progress!), Nino always makes me smile.

See? :D Okay, you can't see, but STFU.

Sho's smiling fondly, too. ♥

And Nino rejects his advances for not the first time. :/

"Whatever, Nino, I thought we had some kind of connection after YamaTarou, but apparently I was mistaken."

"I don't need anyone as long as I have my hair."

"Shit, I'm lonely."

"Guys? ;_;"

Ohno makes sure everyone's together to support Sho, who's just so pathetically lonely that they all feel bad for him.

And they GO~! I wish I had a better picture of Ohno's adorable smile as they're prancing along.

So basically, cheesiest (therefore best) choreographed moment in the concert.

And even though they all came together to dance for Sho, he rejects them.

Or so he thinks. In actuality, they reject him because he smells bad. (This is the kind of sense of humor I have. I tell people that no one likes them because they smell bad. Sometimes they get really paranoid. :/)

More Adventures of Singing Oh-chan. Part II: He's Freaking Adorable.

They lined up so nicely for me.

"All right, now it's Nino! He's so cute when he's singing! Look at the camera! He's looking at the camera! I'm so happy! That was great!"

Nino: "Dude, cameraman, shut up. I'm trying to sing here."

Time for Ohno's amazing solo.

Followed by more goofy-jammin' choreography. :D

Ten points and a lap dance (I'll hire someone) to whomever can get a good screenshot of this moment. ♥

Ten points to whomever can erase this from my memory.

All right, I suppose now's as good a time as any.
Outfit talk: These rival the yellow outfits from the beginning as the weirdest/flashiest outfits of the concert. (It's sad that this is "flashy" -- what happened to the giant feathers and Americana and fuzzy belly shirts?) Red is a personal favorite color-to-wear for me, so I'm happy that the basic theme is red, and it fits with all of the songs that they sing in the outfit. They could lose the capey things, though -- especially Nino, who's a tiny little bitch and who doesn't have a lot of definition to his body; he's basically drowning in that thing. Ohno has a weird long-vest with tassels. Like an oriental rug. (Ooh, see what I did there? I called Ohno "oriental". Bam.) Also, Aiba needs to not be wearing those pants with those shoes. Please.

Sho's lips are disturbingly pouty, but I guess that's part of his physical appeal. (It's especially nice in the "Sakura Sake" PV right after the student/robot version has just taken off his glasses, and he's staring plainly at the camera, HOLY GOD KEYSMASH.)

Kind of looks like everyone's jumping to see if there are any coins or mushrooms in a box above them. In other news, who's excited for the finale of the Mario tournament on Himitsu?

Aiba. No.

More dancing. ♥

More smiley Nino. ♥ ♥ ♥

Wee!
"a Day in our Life"

Look at how Nino takes off his stupid cape, with his hips just so. That's his finishing move when he's trying to seduce Ohno.

But Ohno has chosen to sing with... Jun?! It's because Jun's a gentleman and so kind and considerate and FUCK. DAMMIT. WHY JUN?!

I can't think of anything that would make this cuter. No, wait, that's a lie. Maybe if Jun rolled his tongue back into his mouth, things would be okay. :/ But gah, Ohno's so cute.

Aw, happy hyper Aiba is cute.

Ohno's also cute when he's wiggling his fingers at the audience, as always.

Sho points a lot because he's always trying to find someone to blame for his own personal shortcomings.

"Stop! In the name of love!"

"Oh wait, lemme fix my earpiece."

"Oh, Sho, you silly goose. I'll never love you. And neither will the audience."

"Amirite, audience? Amirite?"

Audience: "Yeah!"

Okay, let's look at his body for a minute. Broooooad shoulders and tiny waist/hips. It just doesn't appeal to me. Though I guess it's not his fault.

V and wonderful hair? This appeals to me.

Decently normal-looking cute fellow who has a huuuuge... talent... also appeals to me. :D

Haha, this is cute, though.

Look at those hands, man. He should quit being an idol and do hand lotion commercials.

I've noticed that these screenshots have been rotating between Jun, Ohno, and Nino.

I don't mind. (Bitches, you're in my way.)

Hair. ♥ I've never been this infatuated with hair. I think it's because it's so different from his usual spiky style (and his old-school poor decisions).

All right, Sho's back, looking crazy!

Yet again on the verge of tears. Stop being so sensitive.

... I can't stop. I keep taking screenshots of him.

But I just want to keep them all.

Fuzzy, moving Ohno is also good. Also, scrolling through my screenshots, I realized that the remaining screenshots of this song are just of Ohno and Nino, which makes sense because Jun has left the stage to get ready for making me fall into the deepest bout of discomfort I'll face this concert.

Nino!

Ohno!

Nino!

And Ohno ends it with a kind of self-satisfied tranquility.
"Tell me what you wanna be?"
First of all, let's talk about how "tell me what you wanna be" is not a question? I mean, English isn't their native language so they come up with stupid things like this all the time, right? So maybe I should forgive them? But it bothers me, so leave me alone? It's like people who use "I wonder" and end it with a question mark, because apparently "I wonder" isn't a statement?

Band before the madness.

Flamethrower. Flamethrower. The last time someone used a flamethrower to start a performance, it ended with Aiba's awful solo song from All or Nothing. And we all know how that went. (It was awful.)

Jun's trying to be "hot" is actually a little funny.

"Gonna shake my fingers through my hair now."

"WHOA!" Or... "C'MON!" Maybe.

And then he bangs his head around a lot.

And grunts. Oh my God, Jun, no one wants to see that. Get a room so that you can grunt to yourself in private.

Okay, maybe guitarist wants to see that, but he doesn't know what he wants.

Fuzzy, but you can see the tongue here.

Generally I don't enjoy Jun's "rock" songs. I liked "La Familia" because it was sappy (and because Ohno (and Sho?) song along with the chorus at the end), and I liked "Yabai-Yabai-Yabai" because it was genuinely cute. But for the most part Jun's songs I skip. "Tell me what you wanna be?" I wanna be far away from you, ahaha I'm so funny.

If we ignore the fact that he's singing shit music, he kind of looks cool here. (See, I'm being nice!)

And I like the black-and-white-against-red aesthetic.

Most people don't tilt that way.

Decent dramatic singing. Passable.

Aaaaand you ruin it.

Like, I don't even know how to comment on these. I would let the screenshots speak for themselves, but then they'd probably start banging their collective head around and wagging its collective tongue in our faces.

Jun could have kneeled for the rest of the song. I would have been totally fine with that. (Meanwhile, wow, he's singing hard there. +1 for effort. -500 for being Jun.)

I feel so, so sorry for the guitarist.

Also, sidenote: If Jun smiled more like this and less like a simpering waif in his drama, I might be inclined to watch it.

"We had a connection, didn't we?" The guitarist shakes his head and steps away.

"It's cool. Whatever. I'll sing by myself in the fog."
Outfit talk: It's appropriate for what they're trying to do (the "Western-style rock", I guess). What they're trying to do is inappropriate.

"It's kind of lame by myself. I think I understand how Sho feels."

"Wait, is that an ice cream truck?"

"But I didn't bring any money on stage with me! Curses!"

"Ah, maybe if I seduce the guy."

*lick* (Inez breaks the narrative and shudders.)

"No ice cream? Well, whatever, I'm watching my figure anyway."

"I'll go back to you!"
"Noooooo!"

"No one wants me. I'll put my glasses back on so that no one can see me cry."

I should have kept a tongue counter. Like one of those "jiggle counters" for particularly big-breasted anime.

"A'ight, y'all, let's start the ending."

"Keep going. Keep going. Forever. Play those chords until you're parents and then grandparents. That's right. Have sex on stage while you're playing your instruments. Even though apparently no one wants to do it with me."

Jun disappears in an explosion of sorrow and self-doubt.
"Ichioku no Hoshi"
FYI, I didn't think much of this song until the goofy choreography in pink suits.

And so it begins.

They sing, as always, on rising platforms. Nino and Ohno are on the ends, which is nice for angled screenshots. :3

And then Nino and Ohno go down. Together.

Goofy choreography! :D

Nino makes a sensual grab but forgets that Ohno's not in front of him.

Sho. :|

Ohno sings as the rest of them do the goofy dance.

Singing. ♥

Sho wants in, too.

Shot of Sho, singing.

But Nino is so much more interesting to watch. ♥

Ohno also makes love to the mic. ♥

The "sparkles" into the chorus are what bother me the most about the song, I think. But it's shiny enough here. :D

Aiba lunges.

"Moon... Eternal..."

"Make Up!" (Because if he were to do any of the transformations, he'd do the best one.)

(shiiiiing)

("... I want to transform, too.")

Ohno does the "demon of the week" dance.

"Oh no you didn't. Starlight... Honeymoon..."

"Therapy... Kiss!" (God why do I remember that.)

Instead of curing the demon, Junaxia comes out. Eternal Sailor Nino's greatest foe!

"You haven't seen nothin' yet!"

"I'm all-powerful! You can't touch this!"

Sho is displeased.

"Help!"

"No, seriously, help!"

But in the end, they all fall in step behind Junaxia. Sailor Nino's tale is a sad one. The end.
... wanna watch Sailor Moon again. I bet I could watch 200 episodes in one sitting. Yeah. Definitely.

Nino's belting > Aiba's lack of a tie.

Ohno's serene singing face > Sho's questioning everything he knows to be true.

Sho is so into it, man.

My favorite pink ladies. ♥
Outfit talk: Pink.

They're getting ready for the ending!

So the moment where they do the chest thump is the perfect time to lo-and-behold Ohno's elegant, economical dancing. Aiba does it kind of with a twitch of his elbow. Nino, as always, uses his shoulders and arm. Ohno keeps it contained completely within his chest -- it's the only thing that moves.

Note how Nino's hips are tilted just so. Oh, Neener. ♥
This time I was a little trigger happy, so the second half of the concert will have to be split into three parts.

Oh, Neener. ♥
