Cami promises me SHINee next week. But for now...
I just finished watching the Ultra Strong Game special. My favorite going in? Nino. My favorite coming out? NINO. With sparkles and blinking and shit.
[Here I wrote several hundred words on Nino's merits and talents, but I decided to cut it because I sounded too much like a zealous fangirl. *in denial* Basically, he's good at everything he does, and he looks cool even though he's a brat with a hunchback. This part ended with a comparison of Nino's and a monkey's agility. I went that far.]
The part where he runs up the conical wall? He just runs up it like it's a flat stretch of springy track. And then he crawls like a beast. And completes a swimming course faster than an Olympic swimmer (though to be fair, there's a reason she took so much time) despite his hating the sea (truth). And clears the last stage in a third of the allotted time.
Ahh, so cool. ♥
Beyond that (this is still Arashi-related, if you had any doubts), I've been clipping through Shukudai-kun episodes fairly quickly. I'm at the beginning of 2008 (when Nino had his stupid rag doll hair). Once I get to April 2008, I'm going to start interspersing Himitsu and VS, and I'll watch the three in broadcast order (so Shukudai-kun, Himitsu, VS, repeat) and eventually get caught up to the currently-airing episodes (though if I'm trying to just watch them, I only really need to watch till the end of January to have watched them all). And then I'll watch (one at a time) USO?! Japan, Nama, and Waza-ari. And then Mayonaka, CnA, DnA, and GnA. And then, finally, Mago Mago, followed by GRA. (The older ones I feel like I want to do individually as opposed to interspersed according to broadcast order (so USO?! and Mayonaka would overlap at times, etc.) because I'm better at concentrating on one task at a time and doing each really quickly than I am at switching between tasks and getting hung up on the transfer time. The currently-airing ones I feel like I can intersperse because that's how I watch them anyway.)
And then I'll have watched basically all of their regular shows. But then of course I have to watch the random guest appearances and performances and specials and whatnot. Goodness, why did I get into this fandom so late? D:
I've been foregoing the subtitles (which has been nice in terms of availability, because only so many of these have been subtitled), but I'm afraid I'm missing a lot without the added help. Even so, I'm a lot better at understanding their chatter than I was even in January, and the highlight subtitles (which is [one of] the reason[s] why the LLC director thinks Japanese television is annoying) are helpful.
That's all. I wanted to get through four episodes of Shukudai-kun during my shift, but I spent too much time typing, so it'll probably just be two.
