obsessive compulsions

I don't unwrap a straw by poking it through an end -- I rip it around the side, about 1/4 from the top, and then pull the two scraps apart. (If it's plastic wrapping and I can't easily rip it, I'll usually use my teeth to do so.)
Dollar bills always have to face the same direction, organized from smallest in front to largest in back.
If the number of digits in a serial sequence isn't uniform, I'll go through and fix them all (e.g., if there are files numbered 1-240 and the single digits are 1-9 and the double digits are 10-99, I'll go through and make them 001-099).
I hate folded sleeves or hems except for when it's obvious that it's done on purpose (e.g., pants that are too long, folded up neatly and evenly). I can't concentrate if I see someone's clothing not fully unfolded or folded the wrong way (like lumpy collars).
I'm a madwoman about correct aspect ratio. I reject every video as an archive video unless its aspect ratio is okay, and if it's the case that I just can't find a video with the correct aspect ratio, I'll reencode it so that it's okay. In general, I cannot watch a video unless it has a proper aspect ratio. (Thank God I can fix that when I watch videos using VLC or MPC.)
And of course, I'm the classic anal completist.
YOUR TURN.

Date: 2009-12-14 03:20 (UTC)i just had a revelation. i'm watching kanjun's oya-koukou, and i idly decided to look up the meaning of the 'koukou' part of the title.
well, it took me to this great blog entry (http://maki.typepad.com/justhungry/2008/03/oya-koukou-maki.html)
the 'filial piety' part rang a bell for me. remember when kazu said that he'd . . . what was it, get married, or having a marriage ceremony, for that reason? the same interview where he spoke about gender not mattering in the case of love? i assume the translator had no idea how the put 'oya-koukou' into english, so she chose the dictionary definition.
this really - this really touches me. i didn't fully understand what he was saying until i read this blog entry. it does make me a little teary eyed, this notion, and the fact that nino used it when referring to marriage/customs.
NINO T_T
(thanks, kanjun! shit, these kanjun dramas are teaching me so much. for reals.)
