Day One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now.
Day Two: Nine things about yourself.
(I imagine most of you know at least some of these. I don't have a lot of fun tidbits.)
1. In third grade, I broke my two front teeth playing a game in which you have to close your eyes, spin around, and run. Ran straight into a wall, shattered the little suckers into bits, and had to put the pieces of tooth in a baggie of milk so that I could take them to the dentist to see if he could reattach them (he couldn't). After years of braces and root canals and all that, my two front teeth are now completely false -- porcelain caps with metal backing (which you can see if I open my mouth wide enough, which I do often).
2. I've played the violin since I was five (so it's been a little more than 18 years at this point). This is the first time ever I haven't had a regular orchestra/quartet to play in or private lessons to practice for, and it feels a little empty sometimes.
3. I make fairly frequent mentions of my "compulsions" because I think they're endearing and I like to point out my "weirdness". I guess it makes me feel exciting or unique or something.
3a. I have to make sure dollar bills are oriented in the same way.
3b. I fix numerical lists if the number of digits in the list isn't uniform (e.g., if it's a list of a hundred numbered 1-100, I'll fix it so that it's numbered 001-100).
3c. I am a completist/completionist, so I'm very careful not to start collections I can't reasonably complete (e.g., you cannot make me buy an Arashi single, because I will buy the rest of them). I will make exceptions if I can prove to myself that an object is qualitatively and quantitatively exceptional (e.g., special compilations, gifts from others).
3d. I have to watch/read things in chronological order, and I hate skipping around, even when it's something like a variety TV show where order doesn't matter. I also have to start a movie from the very beginning, and I won't start watching a movie if I have to leave before the end without being able to see it later.
3e. I open straw wrappers by ripping around the side instead of poking through the top.
3f. If things aren't consistent (especially in writing -- spelling, capitalization, punctuation, ideas, whatnot), I get really upset. Though I'm told this makes me a good copy editor. XD
4. I collect stuffed animals! Whenever I visit a museum/zoo/amusement park/anything with a gift shop, I always come back with a stuffed animal -- preferably an animal I don't yet have in my menagerie.
5. I make an effort to be a conscientious consumer, and I try not to patronize stores/companies/brands that are doing or have been affiliated with something I don't agree with (e.g., Urban Outfitters for donating to the Republican Party, Wal-Mart for being Wal-Mart). Of course, this isn't fool-proof because I simply don't know who's done what and I end up patronizing some "known offenders" anyway, but it's perhaps a feeble attempt on my part to feel like a decent person. (I'll disclaim here and say that I'm not going to berate you if you patronize companies that I don't like, nor am I trying to say that I'm "better" than you for making these decisions; your business is your business (and it's not like I'm a "perfect" consumer anyway). I just personally feel more at peace trying to keep these kinds of thing in mind when I shop.)
6. I prefer paperback books to hardcover books. They're smaller, lighter, and bendier, and they take up less space on a bookshelf.
7. When my hands or feet are cold, my entire body is cold.
8. My favorite kinds of movies/TV shows/stories are romantic comedies. (No one is surprised.)
9. I love eating meat.
Day Three: Eight ways to win your heart.
Day Four: Seven things that cross your mind a lot.
Day Five: Six things you wish you’d never done.
Day Six: Five people who mean a lot (in no order whatsoever).
Day Seven: Four turn offs.
Day Eight: Three turn ons.
Day Nine: Two images that describe your life right now, and why.
Day Ten: One confession.
Day Two: Nine things about yourself.

Date: 2010-11-29 12:06 (UTC)2. Stringed instruments are lovely~
3. Haha, we're so special, aren't we? I'm glad I'm not alone!
6. Hardcover books are so big and bulky! Someday if I have a giant library, I wouldn't mind having really nice hardcover books with beautiful binding, since they're so aesthetically pleasing, but I don't have that luxury.
7. It sucks, doesn't it? My feet are always so cold nowadays. I have to keep wearing socks and then taking them off before I sleep.
8. They make my heart tingle. ♥

7. it does |: how in the world can i be wrapped up completely in thick clothing - but show one hand and suddenly it's like being doused in ice -_- it's the rainy season right now, so i've been clinging on to my jacket even more |:

Date: 2010-11-28 14:41 (UTC)1. You shattered your front teeth! Man...
3. I love your compulsions, probably because I do the same things. Especially the money one.
6. Ah, see, I prefer hardcover books for the bookshelf thing, because their sizes are a bit more uniform. The various sizes paperbacks come in irritates me when I'm trying to shelve my books.
7. Aww. I'm kind of like that too. :D

Date: 2010-11-29 12:09 (UTC)3. OMG, right?! I get so upset when people pull money out of their wallets and it's all disorganized.
6. Hm, really? I find that a lot of paperback books are made around the same few sizes (not thicknesses, but actual width-heights). I have a bunch of nice stacks, though I guess the separate stack sizes are also hard to negotiate.
7. Haha my feet are cold now, but I'm too lazy to get socks. D:
