We went college shopping (as a family) today. Yaaaay.
I'm mostly getting Diki's leftovers because last year my parents bought enough regular supplies to last ten kids for four years, but I had to get little things that I wouldn't regularly think of. Like nail clippers and chapstick. Oh, and a really pink backpack. Like, pinker than
crayonsun's ToriShishi Winamp skin. It's that pink.
It kind of stinks that I know nothing about the dorms at Haverford (we may have seen a dorm on the campus tour, but Claire and I were probably too distracted by how wildly funny and attractive Bernie is). But apparently my mom, dad, and I are going to be staying in Philadelphia Tuesday night (the 29th) so that we don't have to drive overnight to land there at 8:30 on Wednesday morning (the 30th). Diki'd tag along, too, I'm sure, if he weren't already moved back into college for more than a week by that point. So yeah, they'll be staying for a couple of days afterwards as well, so if we think of anything we need to get that we didn't bring along (corkboard if my desk isn't backed with it like Diki's is, major appliances to share with the suitemates because we didn't want to drag yet another big box across a few states, etc.), we'll just buy it in Philadelphia.
I'm kind of really excited now. I still have a few things to do and a lot to organize (including the things on my computer), but that's one major project completed.
In other news, I think I twisted my ankle. Sprained it, maybe. It hurts to walk and stuff, and it's getting worse by the minute. :/ I guess I'll see if I wake up with a nebulous mass of throbbing blob attached to my calf tomorrow morning.
iyori -- I think I'm going to try drawing a doujinshi instead. If it sucks, though, I'm going back to the fic. But the story works really well in visual form (or so I hope), so I'm stuck. :/

Date: 2006-08-07 03:56 (UTC)Go ahead with whatever you want, i think you draw pretty well so all's good! Funny thing is the ideas i come up with for manga mostly work better in the written form. IT SORT OF DRIVES ME CRAZY.

Date: 2006-08-07 11:59 (UTC)Maybe we should swap brains for the month so that we can get our stories done! :3 Actually, dunno how much you'd like being in my brain. Egads, scary thought. XD
BTW, I forgot to ask -- are the doujinshi supposed to be L->R (regular style) or R->L (Japanese style)? And I'm not trying to be patronizing when I do the stuff in parentheses... I get confused with lefts and rights and prepositions when I'm not thinking clearly, so this is mostly just for my own reference. ><

Oh snaps i should've included this in the doujin guidelines >< I think it didn't occur to me because i was the only one planning to do manga. Ehto, R -->L to follow the manga format, and also because i'm drawing mine that way XDXD

Date: 2006-08-07 12:35 (UTC)When do you move in?
(And I think my mother's still asking "what's wrong with them over at Haverford?" since she just found out that the dorms and bathrooms are co-ed.)
