ANIME HIATUS
Can she do it?! Not bloody likely. But she'll try. If just for her mom, and the dozens of broken promises at her feet, she'll try.
But I guess tomorrow and Friday will be spent downloading/watching a heinous amount of anime. And leaving it (and 250-gig Fuuma) all at home. I'm really, really going to try. Double-majoring won't leave much room for anything anyway.
Things I know I can't avoid:
- ToriShishi (though I'll be (re)selling most of those doujinshi (aside from Cheap Soup and a few of others... over my dead body, whut?) after I've scanned the hell out of 'em >_>)
- Kamakari
- fansubbing
- roleplaying (good thing I'm only in one, eh?)
But I can let the rest of it dwindle, I think. I don't have to download a bunch of things anymore, and I don't have to spend so much time being so involved in the fandom. All you lovely kids can do what you want, but I imagine I'll just sit, smile, nod, and go on figuring my chemical equations.
And yeah, I've already sold a bunch of stuff, which makes me squee-happy. Unfortunately, one of them was a really great trade that I just couldn't pass up (curses!), but it came up before my mother's plea to "stop the madness" anyway. ^^;; But eh, that's it, right?
Let's see... what can I do instead of anime? Orchestra, obviously. And I've always liked theatre. There's broomball, too. Maybe underwater basketweaving if I can fit it into my schedule. What else...?

Date: 2006-08-24 02:10 (UTC)I know what you mean though, I find I've been spending a lot less time with anime in the past few years. I haven't follwed a fansub series for quite awhile, etc. I still enjoy it of course, but it's not like it used to be where it was what I spent half my time on.
