This is actually supposed to be for
arashi_ratings, but I don't really do that kind of thing (nor am I any good at keeping up with rating people), so I'm answering here. Heh. Basically, it's a general info/Arashi survey. Looked like a fun survey, so here you go:
Name: Inez
Age: 21
Country: USA
Tell us about yourself...
Strong Points: Am incredibly efficient when I feel like it/need to be. Am willing to go out of my way for other people's comfort and happiness. Get along with just about everyone. Don't get embarrassed easily, which means I'm up for just about anything as long as it's within the bounds of the law/reason. Organized.
Weak Points: Procrastinator (probably intimately linked to the development of my first strong point). Lazy ass (literally and figuratively). Material anal completist (which leads to major binge spending to get caught up and stay current with CD/DVD/book releases of various series/bands/etc.).
Good Habits: I brush and floss every day. :D
Bad Habits: Wasting time on the interwebs. Not speaking up when something bothers me for the sake of "keeping the peace". Being bad at energy conservation (water, lights, etc.). Losing touch with friends and family.
Hobbies: Listening to music, watching anime/dramas, learning languages, sleeping.
What do you think is the best quality about yourself? Why?: I'm outgoing, fairly approachable, and always willing to help people or make people feel more comfortable. I'm the kid on the first day of the semester in a classroom with strangers who goes around and asks everyone's names and gets conversation started so that people start to get to know each other a little bit from the beginning.
What do you think is the worst quality about yourself? Why?: I'm independent to the point where I don't really rely on people who are willing/able to help. I also don't communicate with people or keep in touch with people enough because I'm often pretty emotionally self-sufficient, which has been the cause of quite a few deteriorating relationships. Dusty from lack of use and all.
Describe yourself in 3 words: Friendly, accepting, lazy.
This or That...
High, medium, or low energy?: Medium-high most of the time, but I get sleepy really easily and at reallly awkward times (I'm a napper, not a sleeper).
Impulsive or Cautious: Fairly impulsive when it comes to buying goods/foods, but cautious when it comes to bigger decisions. That doesn't mean, though, that I don't decide right away. I can decide really quickly after weighing my options without being impulsive, and I usually stick with my decisions and am pretty happy with them in the long run.
Leader or Follower: Leader unless I'm with a group of people who already have a rhythm set and who don't need a leader to make progress. In small discussion groups in class, I usually start the conversation and get people's opinions, but when I'm with friends who know each other well and can start up conversations easily, I'm much quieter and willing to "go with the flow".
Optimistic or Pessimistic: Ridiculously optimistic.
Calm or Hyper: Depends on when you find me. I'm usually calm, but when I feel as if a situation merits a lot of noise and bouncing-off-the-walls (as it was when I trained people for a part of the freshman orientation program at my college), I'm pretty good at that.
Sing or Dance: Both. These are not mutually exclusive and usually augment each other.
Good Temper or Bad Temper: Pretty good. I rarely get mad, but that's mostly because I'm usually not strongly opinionated and am tolerant when it comes to the "little things" that might "set" other people "off".
Randomness...
It's Saturday night. You have no obligations, a pocket full of cash, and time to kill, what do you do: Spend good, quality, low-key time with friends. Go out to dinner, possibly watch/rent a movie, and then come home and sit around and chat the night away. At the end, sing "Good Morning" from Singin' in the Rain.
You're stranded on a deserted island, what 3 items would you bring: Assuming the deserted island has wireless and an electrical outlet, my computer. Vicious (my violin). And then... a pillow?
You're house suddenly catches on fire in the middle of the night, what will you do: Make sure everyone is out of the house (using the safety methods taught to us in our youth); once out, call the popo. Nothing really creative here -- I'm a by-the-book girl most of the time.
If you were a girl/boy for a day what would you do: Chest-bump EVERYONE.
A stranger hugs you from behind, what do you do: If it's just a hug and a fairly unthreatening-looking person, turn around and ask him if he wants a hug. If it's a "hug" from someone who looks like he really wants to "hug" me a lot more than I'm comfortable with, scream "rape" and run away.
Favorites...
Favorite Arashi Member? Why? (go all crazy fangirl with this one if you like :D) Nino. He's a cynical, snarky bastard, but he's really talented when it counts. He also appeals to me physically, especially when his hair isn't all "pop idol" and he looks a little more like the boy next door with an adorable smirk. I also really like it when he's making fun of the other members and imitating them because he does it really well. Shibai leader, apparently.
Song: "Happiness". So... happy.
Album: Time. This is probably because the Time concert was the first concert DVD I watched, but I really do love all of the songs and solos.
PV: "We can make it!" It's the PV I show to anyone who's unfamiliar with Arashi, because it's colorful and peppy, and it screams "Japanese boy band". Also, their outfits are really funny. The beginning close-up of MatsuJun haunts me, though.
Food/Beverage: Sushi, Chinese food, cheesy poofs. Starbucks caramel frappuccinos.
Color: Blue.
Animal: Cats, but not if they don't have hair. Sorry, hairless cats, but you're ugly and you make it difficult to pretend that you like me when you don't have fur to hide the contempt on your face.
Movie: You've Got Mail. "Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan should win the Nobel Prize for chemistry!" Or something like that.
Music: Pop/rock in most languages; something with a heavy beat that's danceable.
Dislikes...
Least favorite Arashi member? Why? MatsuJun. I really find him creepy when he's trying to be "hot".
Song: "Hitsuji no Kaze" (Aiba's solo from All or Nothing). I just... don't know what's going on.
Album: None. They're all good in different ways.
PV: None. I like 'em all.
Food/Beverage: I didn't used to like fried tofu, but now I don't mind it so much. I'm very bad at spicy foods in general (why should I feel pain when I want to enjoy my food?).
Color: I used to be irrationally afraid of the color orange, but I'm over it. I think "puke green" doesn't appeal to me much.
Animal: Bugs of all kinds.
Movie: Of the ones in my recent memory, Rumor Has It (the one where Jennifer Aniston sleeps with a guy who slept with her mother and grandmother) was pretty awful.
Music: Things that don't have a definite melody or musical development.
Misc...
Pictures of yourself, please: Me in that cat hat. Assonance not intended but appreciated retrospectively.
How did you find your way here:
arashi_on
Who do you think you are most like and why: I think Sho, maybe, because he seems to be friendly and a natural leader. Aiba when I'm going crazy, which apparently (according to other people) happens sometimes.
Anything else: I'ma go sleep now. Also, if there are any inconsistencies in the way I present myself, it's because halfway through I considered actually submitting this to the rating comm, which meant that I had to explain myself to strangers as opposed to friends who know me. But in the end, I don't feel like voting on other people, so eh. So lazy. ><

Date: 2009-03-12 01:00 (UTC)I wish I had... your strong point of not being easily embarrassed. Also flossing. And most extremely intelligent people are terrible procrastinators, I've noticed.
I like your "extensive" use of "quotes" (y)
The beginning closeup of Matsujun is We Can Make it! is the real reason you're an Arashi fan; don't lie.
YOUR LINE ABOUT HAIRLESS CATS MADE MY DAY. <3
Oh speaking of
stalking your comments sectionmakeup, what's with Sho basically being a member of Hello!Project now? Also, I think it's probably all his idea.Orange is my favourite colour. Defriend.
You're adorable. Mind me asking your ethnicity?
I think you are Sho. Hopefully without the infatuation of white eyeliner, which works for... nobody.

Date: 2009-03-12 07:42 (UTC)Hm... this is not the first time I've been lumped together with extremely intelligent people. NICE PLAY, INEZ. *self thumbs-up*
I'm glad "you" appreciate it. (Bam! Existential.)
Highly unlikely, but the possibility is there. Nonetheless, it's definitely the reason my friend refuses to watch any more Arashi PVs.
You agree, though, right? They're so ugly. I think at Kittenwar (http://kittenwar.com/) most of the losingest kittens are the hairless ones.
Don't blame the guy for wanting to belong.
I have a bright, shiny orange shirt. Refriend?
Indonesian. My dad's technically Chinese by biology, but his family was one of the ones that popped into Indonesia and stayed for generations, so he's culturally Indonesian. In fact, I didn't realize I was technically half-Chinese until maybe my senior year of high school. My dad considers himself Indonesian, so it was never really a question.
Sho! From now on I'll work hard to produce giant, good-looking-but-useless muscles!
