... and I have a few precious minutes left to post something. To Nino this time.

Nino, just remember that Ohno will come back to you, no matter what Cami anyone else says! To quote a highly inspired song from the Spice Girls,

Never give up on the good times, gotta believe in the love you find
(Never give it up, no, never give it up, no oh)

Stay true to your heart. Ohno loves you. And as long as you remain adorably bratty and complex and progressive and cool, so will your fans. Happy birthday! ♥

i know you've seen this a million times. +1.

I DIED HOW CUTE, BABY MATSUMIYA. JUN'S SHIFTY EYES. he was such a cute baby. i would say nino was a sexy baby, but that be fucking sick.

Image
this perfectly describes ohmiya's current state. also, i loved this episode so much. it was like an ohmiya cold war. nino has no friends (lays hand on nino's inner thigh). & nino's liarliar i would date jun, if he were a girl. fanservice-y hatesex ensued.

Image
>< yes >< it did, it's my favourite >< (nod)

Sorry I missed you. ♥ Will and I went to Starbucks, and then he wanted to finish that collage of the people living in our floor plan for next year. D: Though my ID picture isn't that bad, so I don't mind. Ahah.

So. Someone posted a translation of June 7th's Baystorm (which I haven't listened to yet), and in it, someone asks about the music stand message board that Sho mentioned fairly recently in which Ohno and Nino professed their love for each other. I legit pouted when I read the following translation of Nino's response:

At first, Riida, no, I started writing my name on it. When I get bored, I start writing my name, my full name. I wrote that, but then when I go into the studio, they change the music stand. On it, it said, "Did you write your name?" It was probably Riida, it was his handwriting. So then I wrote, "Ohno Satoshi", to which Riida responded. I can't believe we've filled that stand with our writing this past year. Even when I'm writing, I think, "Is he really singing?" That's how much he's written on it. But lately, it's not addressed to me, but Jun-kun. It seems as though those two are having a conversation.

I don't know how I got so attached to Ohmiya, and I'm pretty sure I shouldn't be taking it as seriously as I do, but I actually get upset when I think about how it's fizzled out, and I've been missing it more and more (especially in the swell of Juntoshi). And it's so sad and lonely when Nino himself acknowledges that it's not the same as before, even casually. D: Fluffy Ohmiya, come back to me... ;_;

Oh, but at least Arashi (sans Sho) took Nino out for yakiniku on his birthday. ♥

Anyway, I should be sleeping? :D?

one of the replies i received, in regards to my drunken japan rant, was from the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] alagbon and he brought up something that had never eve crossed my mind:

I hate to sound like a honky-centric conservative but I think a lot of this has to do with their not having had anything analogous to the Renaissance or an Age of Enlightenment; they closed themselves off to most outside thinking in the 17th century, and when they were dragged kicking and screaming into the modern age a couple hundred years later they adopted modern technology and modern models of government but kept an ancient tribal mentality that's all the worse for the islands having been essentially inhabited by only one ethnic group (except for the Ainu, who were traditionally either ignored or massacred) for all of history. So basically under the slick, modern exterior of Japan beats the heart of a feudalist who treats women like chattel and is prepared to meet any show of difference with hate.

THIS IS SO GREAT Y/Y. uuuu!

It's one of my favorite PVs, actually. I think it's really nicely done, even if it's a little sad.
