Doesn't "Portugal" sound like an adjective to you? "We took a trip to the Portugal coast and ate Portugal flounders in the Portugal bay."

Yeah, "Portuguese" is the adjective for Portugal, but I'm just wondering why they didn't name it "Portuga" so that "Portugal" could work as an adjective rather than a noun. ~_~
