Man, I can't keep up with you kids. I'm posting these for now, but I swear I'll get around to answering everyone else's as well.

First, the "fill in the blank" thing.

I ____ Inez.
Inez is ____.
If I were alone in a room with Inez, I would _______.
I think Inez should _____.
Inez needs ______.
I want to ____________ Inez.
Someday Inez will ________.
Inez reminds me of _______.
Without Inez _______.
Memories of Inez are ________.
Inez can be __________.
The worst thing about Inez is _________.
The best thing about Inez is _________.
I am ________ with Inez.

Secondly,

1. I will tell you what song reminds me of you.
2. I will tell you what celebrity/public/fictional person you remind me of, either personality-wise or looks-wise.
3. I will give you one word that I associate with you when I think of you.
4. I will tell you what colors I associate with you.

And my suggested playlist for Rae!
(I think I'll have to provide them later 'cause they're all pretty hard to find...)
In no particular order but numbered anyway...

1. Kajiura Yuki - Vanity
Well, not technically on my playlist, since this is on one of the only CDs I legitimately own. It's a nice celticky-sounding song with some really nice vocal work. Actually, this one reminded me of Rae before she asked for our playlists... *makes a mental note to lend Rae the CD*

2. Full Metal Alchemist - Ame no Hi wa No Thank You
This is a jazzy/big band-sounding duet between Roy and Riza from FMA. It's an incredibly cheesy piece sung in Japanese (like all the songs on the suggested playlist except for the first one). Well, even if you don't understand all the words, it's fun to listen to because they harmonize surprisingly well (seiyuu tend not to be able to sing... -_-).

3. Fooly Cooly - Crazy Sunshine
I have a feeling this is what the Beatles would sound like if they sang Japanese and thick Engrish (that's what it reminds me of, anyway). It's a catchy tune along the lines of American 80s alternative/rock music, but I like it anyway. Caitlin's actually heard of the band before (The Pillows), so that counts for something.

4. Zoids - No Future
And here's my attempt to introduce you to the princess of Japanese punk rock... give it up for Aikawa Nanase, ladies and gents! Put simply, it's Japanese punk rock, leaning towards rock but sounding very punkish anyway. Oh, and if you listen to the song in stereo, it has some really cool jumpy instrumental effects.

5. Get Backers - ichibyou no REFRAIN
This has always been a favorite of mine. It's a bit enchanting... it's sort of dance-mixxy (well, that's how must j-pop is, really), but it's nice anyway (I think the acoustic guitar at the beginning is a nice touch).

6. Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu - Arekara
Mentioning the acoustic guitar totally reminded me of one of my favorite acoustic songs out there (Shimokawa Mikuni releases an acoustic song as a part of each of her singles, and they're often the best track). Gorgeous song to listen to... It's just her and the piano, baby.

7. G Gundam - Hong Kong Sightseeing
Here's a song that blends a traditionally eastern-sounding bit of music with, well, "rap". Better yet, it's another image song. A cheesy duet, no less. Oh man, these are the songs I live to make fun of. It grows on you after a while (sort of). Well, I'm biased because of Seki Tomokazu, but otherwise... :/

8. L'Arc~en~Ciel - FEELING FINE
Just realized that I haven't mentioned any true j-rock yet (a bit different from American rock, so it's worth a listen). These guys and the boys from X Japan make up my favorite j-rock chunks on my playlist. And damn, I'd be lying if I said I didn't understand why girls are so obsessed with hyde. His voice is... awa~.

9. Otogizoushi - cry baby
Kawake Chieko has jumped up to one of my favorite "female j-pop singer" spots with just three songs, and this is one of them. I know I already had female j-pop in the list, but this is just a really nice song - pay attention to how the song develops. Besides, this is much more mellow and has some really cool harmony parts.

10. Cowboy Bebop - No Reply
Ooh, English. Ooh, Kanno Yoko is a fscking genius, kids. I mean, she's not the one singing, but she wrote the song, so she gets some credit for it, I think. Well, anyway, this is an obviously theatrical/orchestral piece with some strange English-speaking fellow singing. The refrain's great. Sort of reminds me of Aerosmith without the screaming to reach notes.

##. Neon Genesis Evangelion - Zankoku na Tenshi no TE-ZE
Sorry, if you're going to have a representation of what I listen to, this is a given. You'll find it very easy to sing along with the song, especially if you've heard it and its accompanying opening sequence (nicely done opening sequence, I might add) any multiple of 26 times. I myself know very little of the second verse, but still, it's nice. I don't know what else to say. I'm bad at describing j-pop because a lot of it is so similar (yet so different), but I think I've completely refrained from using "cute" in any of the comments. Umm, Takahashi Yohko has strong vocals, as does Okui Masami, which, now that I mention her, makes me really regret not having Toki ni Ai Wa on the playlist, but I'm already stretching it with "##" as it is. Really, though, this list is pretty well-rounded as far as Japanese music goes.

Just in case there was any doubt, the appeal of most of these songs doesn't lie in the lyrics. If you look up translations, though, the lyrics are pretty cool, but that's mostly since it's difficult to not make song translations artsy because of the way the Japanese language is. :/

-----

I finished reading Hanakimi (yeah, "When'd you start?", right?). Very cute series (with a bit of shounen-ai on the side, too... nice)! Well, I won't say much else because it's a long series and I don't know how many others have read it, but it really is cute. All I have to worry about now is compressing a few files so that the entire thing'll fit on a 700-MB CD-R.

What else, what else? Oh, I caught up with this week's episodes of Gilmore Girls (I record them and watch them later). Be warned, I care very little about spoiling major plotpoints for live action series. :/

Thursday's episode was the last episode of season 4, where Jason has trouble realizing that Lorelai freaking dumped him. Luke gets jealous, and he and Lorelai have a confrontation on the front porch of the Dragonfly, but they end up kissing anyway... Much fluff ensues before Kirk comes running down the stairs naked (looong story). Meanwhile, Rory's picking out CDs back at the Gilmore abode when Dean shows up. Rory ends up being the "other woman" in Dean's relationship (I mean, they were breathing heavily enough before they started kissing (which I was sort of looking forward to), but then they actually... did stuff... (which I sort of wasn't looking forward to/expecting... O_o)). Lorelai gets angry, rightfully so, and she and Rory get into an argument that leads to Rory's storming out of the house. Once on the steps of the front porch, she calls Dean, but Lindsay picks up and Rory hangs up. The last scene is of Rory having a breakdown, cell phone in hand, while we see approaching Lorelai's feet on the porch behind her. Really nicely done.

Friday's episode was the pilot. Cute. I hadn't seen the pilot yet. Dean's voice was a bit weird and Emily looked really different than how she did in later seasons, but it's a nice episode overall. We get to meet most of the main characters and what they do, as well as Lorelai's predicament when it comes to Rory and how she's going to pay for Chilton. \o/

Retrospectively, I'm not as big a fan of Dean/Rory in the later seasons as I am in the first two seasons (I was just perpetually mad at Jess, I guess, which made me a bigger Dean/Rory advocate). I am, however, a huge Luke/Lorelai fan now. HUGE. They just work well together (even in the pilot, I thought they looked cute together). I hear there are Christopher-related complications in season 5... I hope Luke and Lorelai work through it (I mean, she sees him every day anyway... they'd better work through it).

Inez can be soooooo hot.
The worst thing about Inez is her failer to reconize her true love for me.
The best thing about Inez is everything else.

I heart Inez.
Inez is crazy.
If I were alone in a room with Inez, I would be laughing over dumb things with her.
I think Inez should pierce her ears.
Inez needs a pet monkey. (Can't you see it? It'd be crazy!)
I want to take pictures with Inez.
Someday Inez will be much richer than me.
Inez reminds me of a crazy laugh-y thing. A hyena, except not an evil Nazi one from The Lion King.
Without Inez I definitely wouldn't laugh as much. And wouldn't have picked up such character-traits as squealing and saying Fuzzy. I wouldn't say things like hi-hi! or be called Beth-beth.
Memories of Inez are strange. But in a good way. :-)
Inez can be weird-sense-of-humor-y.
The worst thing about Inez is she works too hard. And so people think she's smarter than me.
The best thing about Inez is her laugh!
I am friends with Inez. I understand that's a cop-out response. Deal with it.

ok-k, do the second thing.

eeek, I want to read Hanakimi ^^;; On a side note, currently L'arc~en~Ciel classifies as more jpop as opposed to jrock ^^;

I admire Inez.
Inez is wise-laughy-studious.
If I were alone in a room with Inez, I would dance around the room with her and read anime.
I think Inez should wear her hair down more often.
Inez needs anime like that little cat on "Mutts" needs its pink sock..
I want to visit Japan with Inez.
Someday Inez will be an insanely successful, high profile woman, and only her true friends will know that she goes home every day and listens to J-pop.
Inez reminds me of a chibi character. And a nice person. And the Cheshire cat. (A lot.)
Without Inez, I wouldn't be nearly so bouncy.
Memories of Inez are joyous and crazy and free-spirited, but occasionally mellow.
Inez can be obstreperous. XD
The worst thing about Inez is that we don't hang out enough.
The best thing about Inez is that she's so jolly.
I am tight with Inez.

I <3 Inez.
Inez is so incredibly spiffy that I can't comprehend the amound of spiffy points that she's recieved.
If I were alone in a room with Inez, I would ask her to explain her philosophies of life to me, or, if she was tired and lazy and didn't want to, I'd have tea with her-- unless she doesn't like tea... then we might go with Jones Sodas because no one doesn't like Jones.
I think Inez should get to know everyone in the world because everyone deserves to have a Nezzie in their life.
Inez needs to someday get everything that she deserves. (if she doesn't, I shall find a pillow and blame it.)
I want to hug Inez.
Someday Inez will find out that her true meaning to life lies in the simplicity of her pinkie finger.
Inez reminds me of anime and cute cartoons.
Without Inez I would never have learned to flick people off with my pinkie.
Memories of Inez are poking her and almost making her fall out of her lunch chair or over the stair rail. (Sorry ;_;)
Inez can be silly.
The worst thing about Inez is sometimes it can be overwhelming with all the anime.
The best thing about Inez is that she's so easy to get along with AND that she watches Gilmore Girls.
I am in luff with Inez.

And I'm commenting for the 2nd thing!
Luff!

I heart Inez.
Inez is creative, in that insane genius way.
If I were alone in a room with Inez, I would try not to bring up anime, or possibly watch a lot of it nonstop for five hours.
I think Inez should ask Ma'am out. Yes, I said it. Hehehe.
Inez needs tranquilizers. But only sometimes ...
I want to make craft crap with Inez.
Someday Inez will be famous and design computers or hack into computers or live in Japan and make anime.
Inez reminds me of a little puppy dog with waaaay too much energy. And a surprising amount of brains, for a dog.
Without Inez I would never have learned about anime. Or Kare Kano. Or craft crap. Or invented a new obscene gesture.
Memories of Inez are ... numerous. And almost entirely good. And when bad, usually because of me. Sorry.
Inez can be LOUD.
The worst thing about Inez is some way, somehow, it's related to anime.
The best thing about Inez is she's awesome! Okay, that's lame ... but only cause there's so MANY awesome things about her XD.
I am bestest friends with Inez.

Item, the second.

I heart Inez.
Inez is a whale. (Remember? WHALE WITH A PONY TAIL!!)
If I were alone in a room with Inez, I would pet her ears
I think Inez should buy me a Creature
Inez needs to work at Bambers (now hiring)
I want to be Inez.
Someday Inez will be President of the Anime Makers of the World
Inez reminds me of a whale. (WHALE WITH A PONY TAIL!)
Without Inez life would be horribly dull
Memories of Inez are hyper and full of laughing. Ok, that sounds corny, but you can't think of a good memory without Nezzie without laughing at her..."antics".
Inez can be weirdly obsessed with anime
The worst thing about Inez is she stole my extra credit freshman year
The best thing about Inez is that she has this thing, where even if you hated her at first (like me, for taking the extra credit), you still end up falling in love with her (in that completely normal way)
I am best friends with Inez.
