Evidently, "stag" comes from the Ye Olde Englishe word "stagga", which referred to men who went to social functions by themselves. Yes, never trust my mother when it comes to English; she's the woman who couldn't remember the word "toilet". Honestly, "stagnant" made very little sense anyway...
We were right about "prom", though. Silly etymology.
Back to my oral, yo. I'll have it completely finished by tonight, so I can practice... All I'll have to worry about is the memorization and the paper. Oh, and getting the chord progression (haha, I finally learned the proper term for "going from one chord to the next on the guitar") down for the artistic (and teaching Rae and Claire their parts). Oh, and the "Grapes of Wrath" sign I need to draw. I'm planning some pretty wrathful-looking grapes. It'll be cute.
