Let's hear it for silly childhood memories!

Well, I've been working my way through the uncut episodes of CardCaptor Sakura, and I finally got to episode 58 (the episode where Kero-chan and Yue can't return to their civilian forms, so they end up helping Sakura around the house). It just happened to bring back some fond memories...

I remember back in seventhish grade, I slept over at Stephanie's house with Jenny and Katie. In the morning, we were watching random things on TV, and CardCaptors popped up.



Stephanie: Hey, is that lion stoned?
Inez: What? No. That's flour.
Stephanie: But look at his eyes!
Inez: It's flour!
Jenny: So then why were there leaves on the bag?
Inez: Well, uh...
S&J: He's stoned!

Stephanie's referred to it as "the stoned lion" anime ever since.


Looking at the "leaves" now, I'm pretty sure they're green-for-some-reason wheat stalks, but of course I didn't think of that back then. Oh, we were so cute...

My child... I've been meaning to call you. And I have a load of very valid excuses why I haven't (I've been at work, my being-awake scheduale was screwy, I lost my directory and your home number isn't in my cell...) but I DO indeed love you and will call you. have you seen "howl's flying castle." the new one by the person who did "spirited away" it is not in RI theaters yet, though it is up Boston, i suppose i could hop a train up- maybe early august, we shall see.
