I really need to stop spending money. Like, really. I'm rivaling [livejournal.com profile] fiore777 here as the "random binge-buyer."

Well, maybe not. ^.~

Went to Best Buy and Media Play. I couldn't find what I was looking for in Best Buy (Fushigi Yuugi DVD 1... nicely-handled series rerelease (like Eva Platinum), yo), but I felt badly because I almost always go on Tuesdays, and I'm positive the people working recognize me by sight now (that guy who nods at you and drops the "HELLO HOW ARE YOU TODAY" line when you enter the store... he's there every time), so I leafed around the CDs (yes, English stuff O_o) and got myself Linkin Park's Reanimation and Meteora (I'd have bought Avril's CDs, but I figure I'm more likely to squeeze those out of my parents than the Linkin Park CDs). Bobby, I'll lend those to you tomorrow (along with Hybrid Theory) so you can burn your own copies borrow them and make extremely accurate audio copies with your amazing memorization techniques. >_>

You wouldn't typically take me as someone who likes Linkin Park, but "eh."

Media Play was a nicer trip. The people working there were still the ones I see every trip (stocker, cashier... even that one guy who sulks around the anime section a lot and, one day, saw me make my 22-second trip to the manga shelves since I already knew exactly what I wanted), but I actually found stuff (no D.N.Angel or Imadoki, though (luff you Ilse, and thank you)). I was fortunate enough to find that one copy of Kajiura Yuki's Fiction still in the CD section (amongst the DBZ and Yu-Gi-Oh CDs... -_- they had the Pokémon 3 soundtrack, but I already have it, so meh; Fiction was sort of tucked between some miscellaneous music, so I'm wondering if someone was trying to pull the "stash and buy later" thing that I always pull... sorry, anonymous (I so should have sent Ilse a singing Valentine from Ann Onimuss last year... granted, I wouldn't be here right now, but it'd've been hilarious while I was still alive)).

They also had Fushigi Yuugi DVD 1! ^^ So yay. Watched two episodes, and then watched the other five (yes, seven episodes... I'm almost positive they'll be releasing DVDs of 7-6-7-6-7-6-7-6, since it's 8 DVDs for all 52 episodes (as opposed to, what, two $100 box sets of 8 VHSs each; it'll be about the same price, but PEOPLE, it's DVD vs VHS)! Great job, Geneon! You still left the crappy subtitles on the series, but whatever!) after I taught my child. ~_~ Her bowhold deteriorates every lesson, but she's getting good with remembering all the notes in Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.

Anyway... Fushigi Yuugi! It's so refreshing to see the subtitled version of the series on a bigger screen (granted, I only saw two subtitled episodes on the computer... >_> which is why I'm buying the series! I owe it to myself to finish it). *_* I've definitely fallen in love with Midorikawa Hikaru all over again (well, I'm sure the fact that Tamahome is such a darling bish doesn't hurt). Heh, from ANN.com... Fushigi Yuugi trivia: Creator Yuu Watase demanded that the voice actor for character Tamahome be Hikaru Midorikawa because his voice fits the character so well.

Damn straight, Watase-sensei, damn straight.

Really, I watched part of the dub first, a long time ago (first 13 episodes, maybe), and I didn't think it was that bad. Listen to it and then listen to the original audio, though, and every character pales in comparison (dude, Keisuke's seiyuu is Miki Shinichiro! No one beats Miki Shinichiro! (Chichiri (who doesn't show up for another few episodes post-episode 7) is voiced by Seki Tomokazu, but unfortunately for Seki, Miki beats him. ><)). The dub script is poorly-written, and though there are some funny lines here and there, they're completely off the mark. The subtitles are hardly better, but at least they don't add random subtitles for lines that don't originally exist (one of my petpeeves when it comes to dubs).

All in all, I'm definitely looking forward to finally finishing this series. The random parodies of Sailor Moon are pretty nice, too.

Officially, the three series I'm buying as they're released are Gravitation, Eva Platinum, and Fushigi Yuugi. THIS WILL NOT CHANGE, REGARDLESS OF WHAT I SAY. (I'm learning to "restrain myself.") Get Backers, R.O.D the TV, and the others will have to wait. I mainly only want to hear the dub track for Get Backers, anyway. ~_~

And I'm hoping for the two Utena box sets for my birthday and Christmas. I'm doubting getting anything like that for my birthday, especially since my mom is going to get me Sutepri Premium and Nakajima Atsuko's Tsuya from Sasuga (she said to remind her to order them in a couple of weeks... ohohoho, she thinks I'll forget, does she?), but I can at least hope. O_o I still want Slayers NEXT and TRY. Haven't given up on those, even though it's been a couple of years since I got the Slayers box.

Heh, if I were on IRC, and I /btinfo'd right now, this is what would come up (well, colorized and stuff):

[19:39] * LTGMars :: BitTorrent = [!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!] = 11% = [Nipponsei] Full Metal Alchemist HAGAREN SONG FILE - EDWARD ELRIC [Paku Romi].zip (20.18 MB) = Down: 42 KB/s = Up: 4 KB/s = Peers/Seeds 6/18 = 2 min 35 sec Wasted = ETA 10 min 11 sec
[19:39] * LTGMars :: BitTorrent = [!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!] = 28% = Detective Conan 01-10 [AConan] (2139.91 MB) = Down: 72 KB/s = Up: 21 KB/s = Peers/Seeds 76/6 = 3 hour(s) 16 min 36 sec Wasted = ETA 6 hour(s) 30 min 57 sec
[19:39] * LTGMars :: Total Bandwith Used by 2 Torrents = Down: 114 KB/s = Up: 25 KB/s

Yeah, so I entered a random channel and just did it. So sue me. -_-

Yay for fansubs of Conan. I can finally go back and watch those episodes I missed on Adult Swim. Oh, and Monday night's episode rocked. I was, of course, hoping for something romantic to develop between "Jimmy" and "Rachel" right then and there, but I knew it wouldn't happen. ~_~ At least we know they like each other, and that's good enough for me. :D I wonder how they'll handle the romance aspect when the series ends, though.

キス! キス!!

After getting a big chunk of Conan episodes (and probably burning them onto CD via that big ol' stack of CD-Rs in my dad's "office" in the basement), I'm either going to download Dual-Audio Kenshin or subbed CardCaptor Sakura. Haven't decided yet. Kenshin's going to take a lot more time, CDs, and clearing-of-hard-drive, but having DVD-quality stuff that you can actually watch like a DVD (well, sans the mobility, I guess... computer-only, yo) is worth it.

Ahh, the piracy. ;_;

And one more thing: Everyone fscking watch Monster when Anime-Keep releases a big chunk of episodes (don't bother with those other groups... bleh). It's getting so good. Drama/suspense is so underrated nowadays. I mean, I love FMA and all (and I'm sure Naruto is good >_>), but really, action and comedy dominate the board too often. Even though some series are truly great (FMA) and some series are genuinely funny (go watch 2x2=Shinobuden! Go!), series like Monster are so underappreciated.

And no, my being an editor for that series has nothing to do with the plug.

Orientation tomorrow! I have no idea how it's going to work, nor do I know what I have to do for the Freshmen, but I'm sure I won't blow too many things up.

Don't we all... >.< I've had dreams about winning the lottery and going out to buy entire shelves of anime. ~_~ Man, a friend of mine found $800 in a paper sack back in the 3rd grade. Maybe that money still hasn't been reclaimed... >_>

Fushigi Yuugi too...! :_: Darn you...I want that as well. My mother really needs to take me shopping, or I need to get my permit so I can get my darn liscence and buy some stuff.

Whee...Detective Conan was awesome last night. :D I wasn't supposed to stay up and watch it, but I did anyways because I wanted to see Jimmy so bad. I wanted some romance stuff too, or at least a kiss, but nooo, they didn't. >_> Heheh, anyways...I hope there will be some eventually. ^__^

Money... my parents don't take me shopping anymore, so I'm forced to take money from my bank account (which would have been taboo if I hadn't gotten a job this summer... still, I've pulled $235 so far ($50 for Gravi 1 and R.O.D the TV + box, $100 for the first Utena box and a couple Chobits manga, and $85 for Fushigi Yuugi 1 and Gravi 2 (the Get Backers box was originally in this equation, but since I up and bought three CDs that I wasn't originally going to buy, I've had to scratch it from my list)), and they cannot be happy about it... good thing I'll be able to put more money back in the bank before the quarterly reports come in).

Dear lord, I'm horrible when it comes to staying on topic. -_-;; I love how that's all just one sentence, with three sets of overlapping parentheses.

Heh. Yeah, you wouldn't be alive. Or capable of speech, let alone movement. But let me borrow your Linkin Park CDs?

Bobby gets them first, but after he's finished with them, then you can borrow Hybrid Theory, because I've yet to listen to the other two. :P Reanimation is just, well, a reanimation of Hybrid Theory, though. Most of them are the same songs, done differently or by different people.

Hell, I bought all 3 FY DVD boxed sets like 2 years ago. *shrugs* Lesse, and Utena too? Darlin, I already have all the GOOD stuff you've listed for a bit now. :P Oh, and as for the FY dub, I like Tasuki's voice. But I'd like to bop Miaka on the head. And subbed or dubbed, Tamahome is a puss. :P *hugs* It's been a while. Haven't seen you on AIM in quite some time.

Hmm, you are right, I wouldn't peg you as a Linkin Park fan. More like A Mandy Moore fan I think... *haha* I think my Meteora addict song is "Lying From You".

*pushes Carl off cliff*

We haven't talked to each other for ages and the first thing you do is tell me that you already have everything I'm shuffling around for? ;_; I need to watch X, too. -_-;; Man. That's really back there, but it's still on my list.

Mandy Moore. Heh. :P

And the only reason you call Tamahome a puss is because you're jealous of his sleek Tamahomeness. :D But yes, I'll IM you if I ever see you online (if I ever log onto AIM again... >_>). *hugs back*

Well, I dunno if you like Mandy Moore, but we all know how much you love the Spice Girls, now, don't we?
