Decided to update my journal. Since I crashed BD's server temporarily, I figured I'd utilize this sucker. ^^ New layout, new icons (though I'm just borrowing old siggies from crescent communities)... I'm feelin' the burn. Since I've been blog-less for a while (I posted about Midwinter, though it won't show up until BD's server is back online), I'm going to go tangent-hopping for a bit.
I swear, the only thing going for .hack//LIMINALITY was the music, and basically just the music featuring the violin melodies. Lovely, stunning, gorgeous violin melodies.
Then again, I'm biased.
Mai and Grandpa's Violin been on repeat for the last... hour? I have no idea why I like the former. It's so dissonant at parts, but most of the time it's really bleeping pretty. The latter is just beauty on a stick.
And no, it's not the same stick with which I poke crap.
Anyway, I'm leaving for Indonesia (we're going East... how insane is that? We're making a 22-hour pit-stop in South Korea before heading off, and I'm not sure where else we're going, but mommy says the day we'll arrive is Chinese New Year's [Day], meaning we'll be flying or pit stopping for more days that I imagine it would take to fly all the way there. Then again, it's a long ways away) tomorrow (you like how I put that entire tangent in parentheses within a one-sentence paragraph? That takes skill).
I shalt miss school, or rather, the happy-pappy people at school (especially since the new semester starts right when we leave... I live in breathing anticipation of knowing what "silly" people will be in my classes this semester), though I'm pretty happy I ownzed (ownzed? I still question the origin of some of the l33t words running around) most, if not all, of my finals.
What now, finals, WHAT NOW?!
Oooh, Forever Love from X (sung by X Japan... go figure) is playing now. I've decided to be inclusive with the rest of my playlist now, and the first thing that played was a song filled with Engrish. ~_~ I love the song, though. Very... powerful?
Whatever the heck that means.
Oh, one more thing. [vapid fangirl (and not about anime this time! O_o) mode]
Yesterday was the last day of finals, so afterwards, Claire, Tina, and I all crashed at my house for a bit. We ate pizza and chips, and we sat there marathoning anime for a bit (OK, so this story has anime in it... it's not technically about anime, though). We played the last five episodes of Saint Tail, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed, and then I watched Read Or Die as Claire slept (she was lucky enough to sleep through all the bloody parts, too (though she missed some cute lines about how "Miss Deep" sounds like a porn star's name... not that I was watching the dub (the Japanese line for that chunk of lip flaps (I was watching it subbed, if you didn't figure that out yet) was "It's [the name is] not cute at all."))... queasy stomach, she says. Tina was half-watching R.O.D., half-reading Gravitation (though she said she didn't like it that much (it bored her) - she just skipped to the shounen-ai parts ("I love gay!!! Not that I'm a lesbian or anything..."). X.x).
Yeah, so when Claire woke up, she decided to "check on her stories" (i.e. romp around fictionpress.com for a while), and we sat there for a long time reading incredibly pathetic summaries ("Tammy likes Ken, but Ken likes Tammy's twin sister, Tommy (?!). What happens when Tommy confesses her love for Tammy?"). Yes, I'm exaggerating, especially since most of them didn't have grammar that well-structured, but people, summaries are used to hook people in by giving them an idea of what your story's like, not to say "im not godd at summeries.R&R!!!!!"
Afterwards, my brother chaffeured us to Marian High School for our nice little Marian/St. Joe basketball game. It was exciting. ^^ I convinced Claire and Tina to go with me to the JV game because I wanted to watch Eric (my friend; different from Meryl's Eric... hey, ERICS FOR EVERYONE!!!) play, even though he goes to Marian (he's technically a "floater", but I figured he'd be more likely to play on JV since it was the big M/SJ game).
[note: There's a Marian/St. Joe rivalry (since we're the only two Catholic high schools in the area), and I go to St. Joe, not Marian]
We got seats at the very top, left-hand corner of the Visitor's student section, where we had a nice little bubble right behind the cheerleaders. Basically no one goes to the JV games. I feel sorry for them. ;_;
Though there's a reason why the JV games are always so vacant... it wasn't much to watch (we basically just sat there and cheered the cheerleaders on (and made up our own cheers, we're proud to say), though Eric played most of the game. ^^ I clapped every time he scored. If Claire wasn't paying attention, she'd clap too, thinking St. Joe did something good, and then she'd hit me when she figured out why I was clapping. ^^ If she was paying attention, she'd hit me right away. ^^;;
The Varsity game was crazy. So many people came, and it was... well... crazy (I shall proclaim now that we were still in a quasi-bubble because Mrs. Richter, Mrs. Carrier, Mr. Dillon (!!!!!), and some assorted faculty sat near us... ~_~). There were tons of people from both schools, and we just stood on our very last bench row and screamed our lungs out the entire time. The first half (read: two quarters) was pretty uneventful, and we went into the second half up 15-10. By the end of the third quarter, we were losing 35-25. X.x Haha, the fourth quarter was amazing. Marian had jumped up pretty quickly to somewhere around 45 or 50 points, and St. Joe was really far behind, but there was just a huge run of baskets, one after another, where we'd shoot a basket, score two points, steal the ball (full-court press) while Marian was trying to bring it up court, shoot more baskets, and get more points! We were at the point where it was (I think) 51-48, we were down by three, so we definitely needed at least a three-pointer to pull off overtime. With about 19 seconds left on the clock, with one of my freshmen friends mumbling "we need a three, we need a three" to my right, one of our players hits a three-pointer and we end up going into overtime! Yahh.
Overtime was even more crazy. It was just back-and-forth... fouls, free throws, all that fun stuff. The crowd was going nuts, especially since both teams were having crazy shots and comebacks and stuff. Well, we're up by 2, with seconds to go, and Marian takes it up court. They do a little ball-handling, pass it out, and, with two seconds left on the clock, some Marian kid scores a three-pointer, winning them the game.
Anticlimactic, eh? ^^;;
Well, the best part of the night was when I finally found Eric after he'd come out of the locker room, and I talked to him a little bit. I pet him on the head a bit (though it was a stretch... he's, like, more than a foot taller than I am; additionally, someone was like, "You might not want to do that..." since he was all sweaty after the game, but I didn't really care), and we just stood there and talked for a bit. We talked about the Varsity game, about his own JV game (he said he didn't play well, but I thought he did really well... if that was a bad game, what's a good game like? ^^), and about random stuff. I told him that he had to send me a letter*, and he said it was easier to use the phone. I reminded him I'd be out of town, and he said he'd send me a letter, so yay. ^^ (I like getting mail from anonymous strangers.) He left, right after which Tina and Claire came up to me saying something to the effect of, "Awww, Inez was with her special friend..." -_-
*We originally knew each other from grade school (he transferred to my grade school in 7th grade, though I never talked to him until 8th grade, which is when I went head-over-heels in obsession with him), and we got to be pretty good friends. It saddened me that he was going to a different high school, but I didn't give up! (!!!!!) I sent him a birthday care for his 16th birthday, and he sent me a letter in return, so I sent him one in return, and he sent me one in return, and we ended up being "penpals". We invited each other to each other's Midwinters (via telephone - we started using the phone to communicate from then on), though neither of us could go to the other's, so we went to see LOTR: ROTK together. ^^ Fun-ness.
Though he is my special friend, in a way. We went on a "date" (not really), and I'm in luff. I love being with him, because he's one of the most genuine people I know. When he's happy, he's genuinely happy (and when he's mad, he's genuinely mad), and you can tell (I melt every time I see his toothy grin... ahhh... *melts just imagining it*). His teeth are so frikkin' straight, too. X_x They're nice to look at, though (yes, I look at people's teeth a lot... it's a weird fixation (I wouldn't say fetish) of mine).
Ahh, he makes me happy. =^__^= I'm in such a fluffy mood when I think of him.
... though now I'm sort of annoyed. I mean, they don't have "fluffy" as one of the "Current Mood" options. What's up with that?!
Well, this very well may be my last entry for a while. I'm technically not supposed to be awake anymore (bedtime of 8:00 PM - we're leaving the house at freaking 3:00 AM tomorrow), but whatever. I've been too busy feeling fluffy to care. ^^
