Birthday meme~
Apr. 7th, 2006 12:25Go to Wikipedia and look up your birthday (excluding the year). List three neat facts, two births and one death in your journal, including the year.
10.29! October is, after all, the best birthday month (Alan and I agree XD).
Neat facts
1618 - English adventurer, writer, and courtier Sir Walter Raleigh is beheaded for allegedly conspiring against James I of England. (Because we learned about him in English! Huh, does this count as a death...?)
1675 - Leibniz makes the first use of the long s, ∫, for integral. (OMFG, this makes me sooooo happy... I have to tell Sarah... *_* </BC Calc inside joke>)
1929 - The New York Stock Exchange crashes in what will be called the Crash of '29 or Black Tuesday, ending the Great Bull Market of the 1920s and beginning the Great Depression. (The one I already knew... I boast about it whenever someone asks me when my birthday is. XD)
Births
1017 - Henry III, Holy Roman Emperor (d. 1056)
1935 - Takahata Isao, Japanese director of animated movies (HECK YEAH... and I have to go out and buy some of his movies now that I have all of Miyazaki's...)
(Also, Meioh Setsuna from Sailor Moon. ♥)
Deaths
1911 - Joseph Pulitzer, Hungarian-born newspaper publisher (b. 1847)
