I know you guys don't care about this nearly as much as I do, but here's a clip of the new Pokémon voices (the special seems kind of interesting). It looks like they didn't get an entirely new cast, though... Ikue Ohtani still plays Pikachu.

XDD

T____T

And I wonder if binsento-kun would be up to subbing the Princess Princess drama...

I like Pokemon too. >_> I don't watch it much anymore. I catch it every once in a great while on a Saturday morning though.

The voices are definitely something to get used to. Not too horrible though. James sounds like he has a head cold though. Why did they change out all the voices?

Nintendo apparently bought back the rights for the anime from 4Kids, so they booted the VAs that have been doing it since the beginning. It really makes me so much sadder than it should, but Pokémon is my all-time favorite anime, and I've had so much history with it, and taking away the original voices that I've come to know and love just kills me. I never knew I could get so emotional over a dub, but this is my frickin' childhood we're talking about. ~_~

Uuuuugh, I really miss it now. I need to start watching again, somehow (or at least finally get around to buying movies 6 and 7 -- I'd buy all of the series DVDs if I could, but that's a ridiculous endeavor, no matter how cheap they are now that the craze has died down almost completely... which also makes me sad. There are only a few of us left who really care at all (or are willing to admit that we like it to some extent -- glad to see you among us :D), but I'm really emotionally involved, so I have no choice but to stick with it even if the rest of the world moves on).

Ergh, I've been rambling, sorry. ~_~

Actually, the voice actors were not booted. A good friend of mine is one of the senior staffers at Pokemon, and the whole story is quite simple. When Pokemon USA took the rights back from 4Kids, obviously 4Kids was unhappy that they were losing such a cash cow.

As a result, they told the VA's that if they chose to continue working for Pokemon, their contracts for all of the other series they do would be revoked. Trust me, Pokemon tried desperately to make deals with people like Veronica Taylor (Ash) and the others to stay, but the amount of work they would have lost was just too significant.

As a humorous point, the girl who is the Videographer at AnimeNEXT this year does the voices for May, Misty and Jessie. lol

Ah, thanks for the clarification. I can go back to being mad at 4Kids and loving Nintendo again. =^_^=
