I can die happy.
I'm so happy I could die.
If I killed myself right now, I'd be the frickin' happiest suicide victim EVER.
Words can't express my happiness.

We got to Cincinnati so early because my mother insisted that we leave at 10:00 AM, even though the drive is only five hours and Fastball was scheduled for 8:30 PM, so we just dawdled around for a few hours and returned to the stage to watch the band before Fastball (The Leroy Ellington Band) perform. They were a lot of fun, actually... Goofy, funky, good (they did a bunch of cover songs). But yeah, that was that.

FASTBALL.

Jeff, Miles, Tony

Jeff, Miles, Tony (again)

Jeff, Miles

Joey, Tony

OMG, I'm so happy. I can't even begin to explain how happy I am right now. As much as I love their studio recordings, nothing compares to watching them live. Nothing compares to actually being there... singing along to every song, hearing Tony's smooth voice, listening to Miles tear up a guitar solo, watching Joey beat the drums senseless, getting to see Jeff nail the bass parts (he's a new member as of last year or 2004 (though he's been around/with the group for years now), and he mainly plays the bass, which means he had to learn all of Tony's old parts... and he plays them perfectly). They played a lot of songs from their first album, actually, which was awesome, because I really like their first album (though obviously I like all of their albums). And they played You're An Ocean (mentioned that for Claire ♥), and I recognized the chords for The Way when Tony first started playing them whereas everyone else had to wait until he started singing to recognize the song. Posers.

But yeah. They really know how to rock. It's fabulous.

Probably the best thing about them, though, is that they're really down to earth. Really friendly, really funny. They were making conversation and cracking jokes between songs (Miles called someone in the audience a socialist XD)... It made the concert a lot more fun than it already was.

And dude, I know that I say it all the time, but now I have first-hand oggling experience to back it up. Tony is SO HOT. WTF. Someone who just turned 42 isn't allowed to be that hot.

God, that was fun. I wanna do it again...

I have amazingly very little to say. I'm still kind of overwhelmed... and happy. So, so, so happy.

Yay Nezzie! I'm glad you had a great time! I haven't heard a lot of their stuff, but I love what I do hear, and I absolutely adore "Out of my Head". =)
