Recent holidays I've missed...

Happy St. Valentine's Day!
A little lonely because special friend is several states away (and soon to be across an ocean for a few months), but he sent me tea and a pillow, and I sent him a quick video of me saying hello, and we talked on the phone and online a little. I guess it's good that I usually don't think much of St. Valentine's Day other than just a day where you get more candy than usual (and see all the cutesy couples, which always makes me so happy). :D

Also quite an interesting day academically, since Japanese was cancelled because the snow killed the Blue Bus and made it difficult for Mawrters to commute. But I still had chemistry, writing sem, and lab, blehblehbleh.

Actually, it's kind of funny now that I think about it. I think I made a bigger deal out of St. Valentine's Day when I was single than I do now that I'm (to quote Facebook) "in a relationship". And I feel like that must be how it is for most people. It's what gives St. Valentine's Day the happy title of Most-Hated Holiday.

I wish I had more to report, but things have been pretty busy at school. Lots of classing and working and teaing and sleeping. I've been keeping up with everyone's posts, though, because y'all are very important to me. :D

Anyway. Must write a heinously long letter now. Or take a nap.

And it really is a pointless holiday. When you're not in a relationship, you mope and it seems like such a huge day...when you're in a relationship, at least it seems like it to me...esp a long distance relationship ... somehow it's not a big deal but you feel pressure to MAKE it a big deal coz its like ... dude ... remember how it aws a big deal with I WASN"T? So ergo must make it a big deal NOW and that's just silly.

Although I did get flowers and phonage. But then again I usually get phonage. Flowers were extremely happy, though.

It's the "mascot" of the new year, the golden boar (inoshishi)! It's so adorable... I think I want to adopt it.

And I think I understand exactly how you feel about St. Valentine's Day. Though it's always such a cute holiday regardless, because even though the affection is kind of on a "I feel like I should, because it seems like it should be a big deal" basis, it's still nice to see all the cutesy couples together. And Singing Valentines kick butt.
