0. The enumerated list thing is really handy. Sorry for being unoriginal.

1. Finally watched Rokkakumyu and Rikkaimyu last weekend! I really like the rival schools (Irei's pretty attractive as Saeki... and Sanada still slaps people, yay). No comments either way about the new Seigaku (though Minami is really reminiscent of Kengo for some reason... or maybe some other cast member that I can't place at the moment... well, the point is that he's a good singer, but he's not really distinctive because he reminds me too much of someone else).

My favorite song from Rokkakumyu has to be Acrobatics & Genius, even if Aiba still can't really sing. >_> But the harmonizing is so good, and Rokkaku sounds so awesome! They were also very fun to watch during Court de Aou! Good, strong vocals, and well-done choreography (especially the simultaneous stepping... I have a thing for stepping choreography). Unfortunately, the same can't be said about the choreography during Kagami no Naka no Ore 2... as much as I love Hyoutei, and as nice as the song is, the arm-flapping and wrist jiggling and whatever else made them look like damn fools. My favorites are the there's-something-smelly-in-front-of-my-face move and the fist-held-against-forehead-in-angst pose.

As far as Rikkaimyu goes, my favorite part was the D1 sequence. So fun. Baba Tooru yay, glasses YAY. 8D And my favorite song in that musical is the Must Be Strong/Finalist medley at the end. It combines some pretty good harmonizing with all of the joy of classic Tenimyu Engrish.

d00d, I haven't fangirled Tenimyu since, like, last year. It's nice to see that I still really enjoy it, even if it's not quite the same as it used to be.

2. Yay for sheet music! My summer project just came in the mail: Rimsky-Korsakov's Flight of the Bumblebee (because Harrison wanted me to play it). I also need to work on the third movement of the Bruch concerto, to finally finish that sucker off after three years. D: To keep in mind for the future: Zigeurnerweisen, Lalo, Mendelssohn, Kabalevsky, Brahm sonatas. I'mma be a good violinist someday.

3. bubblewrapglory.org! It's probably going to be another collective, but I'll do one site at a time so that my ambition doesn't paralyze me. Ideas? I really think I need to do a violin website, and then some type of meganephile website.

Also, Anna, since I was pseudo-hosting you before, if you want a subdomain or something (it'll be reliable this time, since I'm doing it all myself), let me know.

4.
To-Do List
  • clean the apartment
  • organize my stuff
  • transfer stuff to new site
  • come up with a daily schedule (exercise, work, practice, study)

I thought the music from the Rikkaimyu was especially boring. Then again, my taste is pretty weird. My favorite myu (music-wise) is still the Fudomine one (and the Hyotei songs, but I hate the Seigaku ones in the Hyoteimyu so the fudomyu still wins, since I like both teams' songs).

I'd love to hear you playing the Flight of the Bumblebee *___* I think it's pretty hard for violin players.

Come to think of it, the Rikkaimyu music was a little lame. Haha, I was wondering why I didn't remember too much about it... ^^;; Musically, Hyoumyu might have been my favorite. Well, generally Hyoutei's songs, like you said. I really like SeiRu's theme, but I don't really like the Seigaku theme in that one because of the way the music fits together. The names of the songs are blanking on me because I haven't listened to them for so long (also, my external hard drive crashed a while ago, and I lost gigs and gigs of music that I spent years scouring the net for, so I kind of gave up). Heh, I keep thinking of how incredible it'd be for the first gen cast to get together and do a musical. I wonder if that would ever happen... XD

Flight of the Bumblebee shouldn't be too hard to play... it's just that learning is going to be annoying. XD Maybe I'll record myself playing it once it's in decent shape.

    a. OH MAN Tenimyu takes me back. I feel that terrible choreography and worse Engrish are probably just what I need to get me through this summer.

    b. I have never heard you play the violin! :O

    c. I wish I could figure out a way to come visit, since I assume you're still at HCA and that's awfully close. :(

Tenimyu is so good. It's everything I love about musicals, bastardized just a little bit, with boys who look nicer than they can sing and dance. And I love it.

Aw, it would be so wonderful if you came to visit! You're at home now? The bus to Philly isn't too bad, is it? I guess if your job(s) get(s) in the way, it might be a problem, though. D:

I think Rokkaku was all sorts of awesome etc etc *happy flailing* Most people say that Rokkakumyu's songs were boring, and i have no comment on Seigaku's but Rokkaku'd were insanely catchy for me (funky beats yeah~). Irei... have you seen his black and white photo? If looks could kill! :o I felt Hyotei was overwhelming, like in DL3, but most people wouldn't complain about that.

Rikkai's theme was boring for me, but the rest of the songs were amazing and jdkslgh stuck in my head for ages! I think the medley had Next as well or whatever that song's title is. And yeah it was pretty damn awesome, the way the voices blended and all that <3

    Will shut up now :x

I loved Rokkaku's songs. They were so great... they all fit their characters really well (or, well, brought them to life, or whatever). And Irei's black and white photo... OMG. :O :O :O I wish they'd done something like that for the DL4 photosets (instead of those ridiculous "prince" shots)... >_>;; I do think it was a little overkill that Hyoutei had two new songs (three if you consider Atobe's and the team's versions of Kagami no Naka no Ore two different songs), but they are a fan-favorite, so I think they're just playing to the crowd. Shoot, I'm definitely not complaining. :P

The only song from Rikkaimyu that was stuck in my head was Rikkai's theme. XD Well, and the "tsuyoku narunda~!" thing they sang a zillion times.

My first thought when I saw Rokkakumyu was "Hyouteimyu II". >.>; Which is a pity since I love the Rokkaku cast but then... I love the Hyoutei cast even more, so...
Rikkaimyu and the casts grew on me pretty quickly when I watched it again, the first time didn't leave a big impression but now I'm more or less obsessed again. :p I'm glad, I was worried that Hyoutei leaving would totally kill off my Tenimyu-fan...nism (? is that even a word?)... and I'm not ready for that yet, ha.

And hey, subdomain, sounds great. :D You read my mind, I was just thinking how I have time for making a site, finally...

Maybe I should rewatch Rikkaimyu. It wasn't bad or anything, but it just didn't leave much of an impression besides certain parts. But Hyoutei is going to be my favorite for a while... I hope DL4 had lots of good moments. :D

Subdomain! What do you want the subdomain to be?

    Date: 2007-07-09 15:48 (UTC)
    From: [identity profile] crayonsun.livejournal.com
    Can't say, maybe? I did have that too at first... but I also have a new-found appreciation for Rikkai as a school, when before I didn't even really like them (aside from a couple of members). So I get more out of the myu than at first. XD;

And DL4th! I'm so happy to see Hyoutei back. Even without Kazuki or Saitou.

And... I'll think about the subdomain for a bit more, I'll let you know, k?

My appreciation for each school has upped multifold because of Tenimyu. I guess it's the cheesy singing and dancing in the school tennis uniforms that does it. I'm a sucker for cheesy singing and dancing.

Definitely. I always wondered if it would happen with Rikkai, and it did... can't resist the cheesy singing and dancing.

And you know, it could take me months to come up with anything for a site name, so you can make the subdomain just crayonsun. :p I fail.

Thanks a bunch. :D I think the first thing I need to do is to replace all the broken links to my skins and stuff... eh. Probably tomorrow.
