Day One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now.
Day Two: Nine things about yourself.
Day Three: Eight ways to win your heart.
Day Four: Seven things that cross your mind a lot.
Day Five: Six things you wish you’d never done.
Day Six: Five people who mean a lot (in no order whatsoever).
Day Seven: Four turn offs. )
Day Eight: Three turn ons.
Day Nine: Two images that describe your life right now, and why.
Day Ten: One confession.

Cocoa Otoko.'s mini album came out, and it is lovely. There are really only three new songs on it, but it does come with a new PV, which you all will watch now:

I was watching the DVD earlier today and getting all nostalgic about watching Tenimyu in Osaka with Ves, Val, and Leigh. And how I was so good about containing my glee until the very end, when KenKen took a bow and I screamed for him. Ahaha. XD And then I followed Team V to the aquarium, and it was magical. ♥ Still one of the most wonderful days of my life.
ltgmars: ([arashi] nino ~ beautiful days)
I still have about a day and a half in Japan, but I'm packing up my things and getting ready for the night bus which will lead to my eventual afternoon flight back to the States. As I'm pretty much finished collecting things, I've taken a picture of all of the fun and exciting goods I got. Actually not that fun and exciting, but artfully arranged on a small table, so maybe that makes up for it.

Follow me for picture and categorized list! )

All in all, V-I-C-T-O-R-Y.

ETA: Actually, decided to give Harrison the Pocket Monsters DVD. Instead, I'm keeping an adorable Pikachu movie short cine-manga (but in Japanese, so it's cool).

I went to the one tiny bookstore in Kaminoyama (where Isaac lives) and picked up the newly-released Mistress Fortune. Unlike the other Tanemura Ribon tankoubon, this one is really, really shiny and sparkly on the outside. It's going to be the new kid who doesn't fit in well with the rest of them in my box back at school. D: I did read the three chapters that were the main story, and upon second read, I think I like it a little better than I did before (even if I didn't quite understand all of it).

Mistress Fortune, etc. )

I saw the Tenimyu photobook, too, and oh how tempted I was, but I'm eventually getting a copy special-ordered through Akadot Retail, who've always been so good to me and so nice about special-ordering things, so I'd have to be a really terrible person to back out of this special-order now. I'll get it soon enough... :3

Beyond that, it's been quite nice and peaceful here so far. There've been a couple of colleague-parties that I've gone to with Isaac (last night I got a little sick from the boozin', though, because in Japan what you do is eat and drink and eat and drink and drink and drink, and you mix beer and wine constantly, and they keep making you drink, and I don't usually drink that much anyway so I wasn't used to it, and ugh my stomach was so full of nonsense that it had to come out), and sometime soon we're going to head into Yamagata city (adjacent to Kaminoyama) and see a town with actual people in it. :3

[To the authorities stalking my LJ: I am of legal drinking age in both US (21) and Japan (20).]

Next week is Tenimyu! :D :D :D I'm going with Leigh and others to Osaka to see Kenken in his natural habitat. Yay~ \o/ Thanks again to Leigh for this opportunity. ♥♥♥ I can't believe it's actually happening. *_*

After that, Isaac and I will be in Tokyo for a few days. On our list of places to go is Ueno, Akihabara, Asakusa, and I guess Shibuya. Anywhere else?

Anyway, I hope you all are having a lovely holiday season, wherever you are.
ltgmars: ([tanemura] haine ~ smile)
I had my Japanese presentation today. It was okayish. Much better than the last epic failure of a presentation that I had. This one was more fun, too, because I was presenting Japanese games, and when I got to janken, I got to play part of the backstage clip in which Kenken demolishes everyone until Date comes by and unwittingly defeats him.* I dunno, I enjoyed it. :3 I'm glad that it's over, though... now all I have to worry about for this week is my papers, which for the life of me I can't seem to want to start.

I suppose for tonight I'll get outlines of both, tomorrow I'll do one rough draft, Thursday I'll do the other, and Friday I'll revise as much as I can.

*Since the revelation of Date's bout of displeasure with Tenimyu, I've unfortunately seen him in a different, much less flattering light. I was rewatching some old videos of songs and stuff, and I couldn't help but frown at him whenever he sang. It used to be cute how he cried all the time, but now it's like, "Seriously, you're crying? You don't even like being on stage there." I dunno. :/
ltgmars: ([tenimyu] shishido ~ eh)
Grabbing bits and pieces while I eat food (since it's hard for me to be productive during food time). It's easier and less risky to watch Tenimyu during such a busy time because there are breaks between songs/matches, whereas when it's Gilmore Girls, I want to watch each disc at once, which is a 3-hour block of time.

I haven't learned the new A-Hyoutei members' names yet, besides Yuu-chan (in fact, I haven't even learned 4th Gen Seigaku's names yet... I feel like I haven't been able to connect with them yet, though I suppose it just needs more time and more viewings), but main comment so far:

Oshitari's actor's singing voice reminds me of Tsuda Kenjirou a little bit. Did anyone else feel that way?
ltgmars: ([gfl] lily/brad ~ bust a move)
Can anyone upload for me Kuki Kiichi no Hayaguchi Kotoba from Tenipuri? We were doing tongue twisters in Japanese today, and I thought of that song, and it was on my hard drive that crashed so I don't have it anymore...

*puppy dog eyes*

0. The enumerated list thing is really handy. Sorry for being unoriginal.

1. Finally watched Rokkakumyu and Rikkaimyu last weekend! )

2. Yay for sheet music! My summer project just came in the mail: Rimsky-Korsakov's Flight of the Bumblebee (because Harrison wanted me to play it). I also need to work on the third movement of the Bruch concerto, to finally finish that sucker off after three years. D: To keep in mind for the future: Zigeurnerweisen, Lalo, Mendelssohn, Kabalevsky, Brahm sonatas. I'mma be a good violinist someday.

3. bubblewrapglory.org! It's probably going to be another collective, but I'll do one site at a time so that my ambition doesn't paralyze me. Ideas? I really think I need to do a violin website, and then some type of meganephile website.

Also, Anna, since I was pseudo-hosting you before, if you want a subdomain or something (it'll be reliable this time, since I'm doing it all myself), let me know.

4. To-Do List )
ltgmars: (fastball ~ out of my head)
So in Japanese today, someone was trying to say "biology" ("seibutsugaku"), but she said "Seigaku" instead. I chortled.
ltgmars: (torishishi ~ sunny days)
It never saw it coming.

vacation(?) report, talk of food, Hyoutei at the zoo? )

I'm all moved in and stuff. The rooms here are pretty big. :D It actually didn't take too long, but when you're sitting on your butt and watching your mother do all the work, well, nothing takes too long.

There's much catching up to be had. It'll take a while, but Customs (freshman orientation) starts at 4:00, so I doubt I'll have a chance to breathe until late tonight. I will catch up, though, so don't worry. Your daily lives and bitchrants are important to me.

Oh, and I got some pretty things in my college mailbox today. I told my mom that I'd be selling some things that I bought during the summer, but I hope my mom wasn't expecting me to sell those, 'cause yeah. Ain't happening. :D I think I might scan the big-pretty one later, if anyone wants it (I know someone already shared pictures of it, but have proper scans been shared?). It's so fscking kira-kira, I can't even begin to explain it.

P.S. This song? My ears = dead. OMG.
ltgmars: (ohtori ~ up to no good)
My "productive week" is not starting well. I was pulled out of my happy home this afternoon to sub for a flautist who got sick. Flautist. Yeah. Stupid flute range is hard to hit when you're sight-reading on a violin. But someone called at about 11:15 this morning asking if I could play at a gig at 1:50, and I was waiting for her to qualify that with something like "next Tuesday", but no. It was 1:50. Today.

There goes Fansubbing Sunday. And now my head hurts. I think I need a nap. Boo.

But here's the week, in cutesy names:
- Fansubbing Nothing Productive Sunday. (Maybe I'll finish editing after a nap. :D)
- [livejournal.com profile] manga100 Monday. (88 icons in one day. That should be fun.)
- F-list Tuesday. (That's my "oh, you posted scanlations/fic/repo last week and I must download/read/comment" day.)
- Read Information in Anticipation of Moving into Haverford and Finally Post Your Dorm Address Wednesday. (Self explanatory.)
- Pack Your Stuff Thursday. (Or maybe "Figure Out What You Have to Pack Thursday".)
- Pack Your Stuff 2: Revenge of the Pack Your Stuff Friday (But seriously, what in the world do I need to pack?!)
- Are We Leaving on Saturday or on Sunday? Saturday. (Ditch effort to retain sanity before I'm sans internet for 3-4 days.)

All the while, I have to draw my doujinshi. I don't think I'll finish~ D:

Things I've bought this summer (holy CRAP) )

Hm. I'm getting stiff and achey, and I think I'm developing a fever. $20 says I'm bedridden-sick tomorrow. :D
ltgmars: (ohtori ~ up to no good)
1. I sneeze in groups of five. If I sneeze less than that, I feel emotionally empty for a few minutes (seriously). If I sneeze more than that, I feel accomplished.

2. I haven't forgotten about the lovespam posts. I just wanted to get the reciprocal ones shipped out first. :D

3. I take back ever saying I can't draw. I draw well enough. You can kind of tell who the characters are and stuff. It just takes a FRICKIN' LONG TIME. It took five hours to draw four pages last night. I still have six pages to go, if all goes as planned. And that's just the sketchy pencil rough draft. Without backgrounds. Then I have to draw the clean copy with all the random details, and then I have to ink it using the one size pen I have (I need different-sized pens, I say), and then I have to scan it and edit in all the text and do all the shading on the computer without a tablet and/or stylus.

And then maybe if it doesn't make me cry on the inside, I'll post a LQ version of it. And pimp the anthology it's going to be printed in. And encourage everyone to go to Malaysia and buy a copy. :D

4. My to-do list for tonight:
- finish placement essay for first-year writing seminar, GAHH IT'S DUE TODAY YOU FREAK
- edit Blood+ because I'm a loser and I've been sitting on it for, like, a week
- finish rough draft, cry into my pillow when I take back ever saying that I take back ever saying that I can't draw, because I can't draw
ltgmars: (solomon ~ unholy redemption)
We went college shopping (as a family) today. Yaaaay. )

In other news, I think I twisted my ankle. Sprained it, maybe. It hurts to walk and stuff, and it's getting worse by the minute. :/ I guess I'll see if I wake up with a nebulous mass of throbbing blob attached to my calf tomorrow morning.

[livejournal.com profile] iyori -- I think I'm going to try drawing a doujinshi instead. If it sucks, though, I'm going back to the fic. But the story works really well in visual form (or so I hope), so I'm stuck. :/
ltgmars: (torishishi ~ sunny days)
I think I'm going to be sick... with the AWESOME!!! o(>0<)o Am so spoiled. Had so much mac and cheese today. Will not be able to move for a week. Yes.

I got an e-mail in German from Layla Hamilton today. Yes, the Layla Hamilton. As in that one blonde chick from Kaleido Star. But I just threw the e-mail away, because it was just an "invitation", and I wouldn't want to associate with her because she's kind of a jerk. :/

My pediatrician told me today that the way I smile all the time is an asset. 'cause if I can't disarm my opponents with a smile, then I have to pop ammunition out of my cleavage, reload my gun by spinning around, and fire from behind my back -- all without killing the target, oftentimes while wearing a really big straw hat.

Random file: Koori no Emperor II from Wintermyu. 'cause that's the one that has the best shot of that smexy, smexy leg roll thing.

And sudden realization! My favorite Tenipuri songs are
1. MEBACHIKO
2. Next Gate
3. Go! Go! Meganes

But they should be
1. Go! Go! Meganes
2. MEBACHIKO
3. Next Gate

or maybe
1. Next Gate wearing Go! Go! Meganes and speaking MEBACHIKO on a billiards table

Rachel P. had her party today. That was cute. Had nice little conversations with Bobby and Beth-Beth and them. Also, Bobby and I are the best/worst Kemps players ever. Rachel and Feeney refused to play after we won twice in a row by being completely stupid. "SATURDAY!" "KEMPS!!!" :D

Then I went to the graduation party that Bobby C. had at his uncle's lake house. Ohmygosh, I love water sports. Rachel K. was my tubing partner. And when it was Alan's and his partner's turn (I was on the boat, watching), they experienced a particularly sharp turn, and Alan fell out. The other people on the boat were kind of worried, but holy crap, I was laughing my ass off. It was seriously the best thing ever. ><

Mother was talking about something inconsequential with my brother. Her "he or she" sounded too much like "Hiyoshi". So that's two down, seven to go. I'm looking forward to whatever drugs I'll be on to be able to hear "Akutagawa".

やっぱオリジナルキャストは一番でしょう。

Rewatched DL1. Oh, how I miss them. ;_;

Just a little bit of DL1 rambling, but it'll probably offend fans of the second cast and bore EVERYONE. )

In other news, I need to finish my Kamakari gift package gift. O_O!!

P.S. I'm practicing my janken. It's kinda lame when you have no one to play against, though. :(
ltgmars: (tezuka ~ youth)
... you're doing grunt work for Dr. Huang just because you're friends with his son, even though you're technically not working for him so he should just leave you the heck alone and let you surf the internet on corporate time in peace, and as you're downloading Adobe Reader so that you can print out a random PDF file for him, you turn your head away just to, seconds later, catch something in your peripheral vision and spin back around, uttering "Atobe Reader?!" incredulously.

And yes, I know that's way too long to ever go on one of "YKY" lists. I never liked you anyway.

About half my f-list will hate me for this, but I've claimed a pairing at [livejournal.com profile] antiotpficathon.

It's AtoShishi.

Now don't get me wrong, I can enjoy AtoShishi when it's well-written, but really, really good AtoShishi fics that I reluctantly end up really, really liking (written by, say, you) make me cry inside. T_T When a prominently-accepted pairing gets in the way of my OTP (as an anti-OTP does, I suppose), then I just can't help but dislike it in principle. >< So yeah, even though I haven't written fanfiction for at least three years (and really, I've never, ever written any good fanfiction), I'll be trying my hand at AtoShishi, writing through squinted eyes and gritted teeth, with the ToriShishi fangirl in me dying a million deaths. Look forward to it.

/me is meanwhile writing a quick ToriShishi fic for Easter. Oh, how the tables will turn... T____T

EDIT: Seriously, how difficult is it to get my username right? LiveJournal only uses lowercase usernames, so we know it's not "itgmars", and I have no idea where "ltgamer" would have come from... The only one I can really understand is "lgtmars", because we're all dyslexic sometimes, and it's more difficult to remember if you don't know what "LTG" actually stands for. But still. :/
